I wrote an article! Very excited to add my voice to those calling for community involvement in the energy transformation!
The Conversation - Australia + New Zealand@ConversationEDU

"Big corporations should not control our energy systems, nor should they reap all the profits". Dominique McCollum Coy @MonashUni with the latest on how Australia's community-owned energy projects are putting the power in the hands of everyday citizens. theconversation.com/people-power-e…

It's not fair that big companies control our power supply and bills skyrocket. So we're going to set up a government-owned power company to drive down bills. It'll put the power back in the hands of Victorians. And it'll be 100% renewable.

"The race is still long while time is running out." We're not on track to achieve the #SDGs by 2030 so what can be done? Timely new book on the political impact of the #SDGs. Co-authors include MSDI's Dept Dir. Research @Robraven and Chair @jwthwaites. bit.ly/3zHABlH

Excited to see this article come out. It’s based on an upcoming Cambridge University book that reviews over 3000 articles to conclude that there is limited evidence for the transformative effects of the SDGs on our social, economic and political systems. nature.com/articles/s4189…

📢 New paper in NATURE SUSTAINABILITY: Based on 2-yr meta-analysis, involving 61 international experts, we conclude that the UN #SDGs haven’t had much impact so far. ⬇️ Here’s what we have found in detail:🧵 nature.com/articles/s4189…

Honoured to be with @AlboMP @Bowenchris @jennymcallister today, witnessing the signing of Australia’s new emissions reduction target. A huge day for renewables and smart energy. This is leadership.

AEMO has suspended the electricity market. We can’t leave our energy systems in the hands of big corporations. Switch to us to build the commons.

Canberra is avoiding price hikes from big polluting coal and gas corporations because it is powered by 100% solar, wind and battery storage since 2020. When will the rest of the country catch up? #AusPol

Our latest GSDR blog post explores the informative conversation we had with @Isrbasu about the uptake of the SDGs across the Pacific. We agreed that we want to “capture the energy” of all stakeholders going forward. #AusPacSDGs Read more: lght.ly/9pboi0
