You really see the dichotomy of single girldad and single girlmom parenting on display in these contrasting personalities. Liu, the spunky goth gf tomboy performing a girlsport, and Gu, the austere power bitch classic beauty dominating a man's legacy field. At least with Asians, the gender war divisions leading to loneliness crisis meeting futuristic eugenics technology will increasingly result in these experiments. What kind of woman will a single Dad create vs. single mother, when they are both controlled for high achievement/high conscientiousness tiger parenting? The single men will create a new species of foid optimized to appeal to their sensibilities without being too threatening. It's already worked wonderfully which is why the men are going gaga over their cheeky, beautiful mid with a funky fresh wild side. The kind of overclocked fun, sweet, and horny trifecta that has even the most jaded red pillers doing a double take glance towards the wifejak slaveshack. The single women, contrarily, will raise a species of callous super predators like Natasha Henstridge from that 90's alien sex movie. These genius IQ ice queens will be ball smashing sharks raised to be the men their mothers always wanted but never had, unleashed on the world only to avenge it. Nothing will ever be good enough for them just like they were never good enough for their mothers, no matter what they achieved. These novel races will butt heads eventually, that's for sure. As will their respective simp legions. The fate of the brave new world may hang on how that plays out.

The Alysa Liu / Eileen Gu moment might be the clearest proof that men aren’t as shallow as people claim. Eileen’s an international model. Alysa looks like the cute goth girl from your history class. And yet, men are overwhelmingly swooning for Alysa just because she’s bubbly.

@JacobAShell Philly AND Chicago are the soylennial irony middle class downwardly mobile hicklib cities. Spiritual Ridgewoods for mediocre moustache/mullet White boys who want local beers, local sports teams. Great places to play pool, see your friend's concert, and have a hecking normal one.

When I first moved to Philly in 2012, it was clearly angling to become "the next Brooklyn," attracting younger NYC hipster creatives and millennial chefs priced out of the 5 boros. At the level of restaurants bars and shops it sort of worked, but a lot of other things limit PHL's ability to occupy that niche. Slow unreliable overpriced train access to NYC is one of those things. Eventually the pandemic badly damaged the restaurant and bar scene and the city's identity is shakier during the 2020s than 10s.

If we had true high-speed rail, it would take longer to commute from Coney Island to Manhattan than it would to take the Acela from Philadelphia. Imagine how many housing shortages could be solved if Albany and Philadelphia were within an hour’s commute.

I predict that people with good taste are going to start realizing just how much China is mogging us when it comes to infrastructure, and they will quickly realize the problem is NIMBY housing regulation. Combine this with local gov's wasteful spending and inability to solve problems like homelessness, I predict massive infrastructure projects are going to happen in the near future which simply ignore local building regulations. There's a lot of money in the US just waiting to be spent on making our cities beautiful, and they can only hold it off for so long. Here's to the Clandestine Skyscrapers of the future.
