You can use the quadratic formula to make homing missiles properly lead and hit their target. I've used this in games for like a decade. I wish they'd use examples like that in math class. Give practical/fun examples. I hated math b/c it was too abstract. Gamedev made it fun.

@tty0x24 This is interesting, once I managed to get claude (+ a lot of hand work sadly) to implement a SDR based TX for CCSDS 131.2-B, sadly I lost the hard drive that the code was on... LoL... I looked into DVB-S2 but the llm's just hallucinate too much... If you have any tips :)

ディスクリートDSPラジオのQ相同期式乗算器。これで8ビットの(1+mcosωst)cosωtとsinωtを掛け合わせる。ディスクリートを標榜するならやはりDIP。SOPで基板1枚に収めるよりDIPで部品の躍動感を表現したかった。これで1秒間に1638.4万回、上記の8ビットを計算する。初めて動いた時の感動は今も忘れない。

@Kummari93Mahesh dB is a relative unit, its 1/10 of a Bel, think of it like a multiplier... when you add 0dB + 0dB you essentially get 0dB because you're doing just unit arithmetic, but 0dBm is actually a 'value' (1mW) so when you add 0dBm + 0dBm you're essentially doing 1mW+1mW = 2mW (3dB)
