Bernard Jenkin whines about under-resourced forces—after his party slashed defence by 25% over 14 years. The arrogance. You broke it, you own it. 🪖👋💷

@ArtistCyclist Making 120M bicycles annually generates an est 11.5 to 24 million metric tonnes of equivalent CO2, assuming an av manufacturing footprint of 96 kg to 200 kg per bike. While they are zero-emission during use, production—involves energy-intensive materials like Al and steel

Every day before the Commons sits MPs pray in the chamber. Today it’s at 2.30pm. Someone let @NJ_Timothy know so he doesn’t cr*p himself. I know he has a fear of people praying.

@Ameer_Kotecha @suechadwick999 It was an open goal; he lied his way to Labour leadership; lied his way to GE victory aided and abetted by a bunch of celebs who’ve all (largely) continued their journey towards downtown Batshit and are now worshipping the new Moon-howler in Chief, the Green’s Zack Polanski.

I find it genuinely perplexing how Starmer became PM. He doesn’t seem to have any real aptitude for any of the things politics involves. He is a robotic speaker, not a deep policy thinker, no natural political antenna. And he clearly hates every minute of being cross examined even in a very civilised manner - isn’t that meant to be bread and butter for a former barrister?!

In 1986 there were approximately 14.5 million registered cars in the UK. That number has risen to around 34 million registered cars in 2026. Can anyone see why traffic congestion is such an issue?

In six days i've produced 176 kWh of electricty from my roof in Wales. The average home in the UK uses between 50 and 70 kWh a week. It's March. We have war. Strikes on world power supplies and fear. Energy security for your home is fantastic! We need more rooftop solar and battery storage. I can use this electricty to, cook, clean clothes, heat hot water and even add some charge to my car all without any interfence from the world. I can even help my adding energy to the grid. octopusreferral.link/solar-panels-i…

Labour has halved the cost of childcare, and now we’re doing even more to make high-quality early years education more accessible and affordable. We’re cutting the cost of living and giving children the best start in life. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

@Daniel_Grigg Agreed. Currently I work 5 days a week and pay up to 60% income tax. The Greens will allow me to stop working and live off other people. I cannot wait. I’ll be much better off.

Jeremy Clarkson trying to present the Greens as the party that would leave you with less of your money is ridiculous. For 99% of people, Polanski's Greens would leave you with way more of your money than Starmer, the Tories or Reform would.

For anyone who still hasn't grasped why nuclear power plants are the stupidest idea imaginable: New nuclear power plants cost up to 49 cents per kilowatt-hour in Europe. Solar power costs between 3 and 6 cents. Thats 16 times more expensive electricity For those now dreaming of small power plants (SMR): SMRs produce five to 30 times more nuclear waste than large reactors, and nuclear waste is a massive cost driver. Professor Dr. Lesch calls the idea of using old nuclear waste as fuel "a wonderful fairy tale that has yet to come true anywhere in the world." For all now claiming storage is no cost driver take a look what Germany had to pay and all other countries with nuclear energy generation must pay for decommissioning and storing nuclear facilities and waste in the future:

70% of drivers exceed the 20mph speed limit, yet this criminality and law-breaking will be reported by some as a ‘war on hard-working motorists’ or a ‘cash grab’, when in reality it saves lives

High-tech speed cameras that do not flash when they detect speeding drivers and do not need road markings are to be trialled in parts of London as part of plans to reduce road casualties. bbc.in/4sg5qHX (📸 TfL/EPA)

@sonabilis @dorfman_p Agreed. Just bored of cyclists saying their EVs aren’t impacted by oil whilst they roll along on roads & tyres made of oil, in a 2 ton car (manufactured with rare minerals and metals the mining of which requires…fossil fuels) looking for a charging station bolted to….concrete.

@DylanBantoft @dorfman_p That’s not a valid argument against it. We’ll still need it for certain industries and products. But how about not burning billions of tons of this precious oil for power generation, heating, and transportation?

Two weeks ago we had solar panels and a battery fitted. We have just completed our first full week with the system. Our electric bill for the week commencing 10th March 2026 compared to the same week last year has dropped by 71% from £31.71 to £9.05. We also have not received our DNO cert yet which would allow us to sell back into the grid. On sunny days our battery has been full by 11:30am meaning we don’t yet benefit from the excess free energy being produced. We are now going to buy an electric car and fill it with free energy. If only all of the UK could do this, it would go along way to reducing the countries high energy costs. @octopusenergy @g__j
