This is more than movement of goods; it is the steady pulse of economic renewal. Our youth are and will be deeply involved at the heart of this transformation, driving manufacturing, packaging, and transportation across Kisumu and beyond. Through these efforts, livelihoods are and will be rising and dignity will be restored. Kisumu is reclaiming its rightful place as a strategic gateway, linking the region, expanding trade, and opening doors of opportunity for a generation that chooses to build rather than wait. As a devolved unit, the County Government of Kisumu remains steadfast in fulfilling its constitutional mandate to deliver meaningful, people-centered development. The Kisumu Lakefront Development Corporation is our vehicle for transformation. The pace may seem measured, but the trajectory is clear and the destination assured. In 2025, Sabastian Sawe asked the AIU to test him as frequently as possible. He underwent 25 tests in the build-up to the Berlin Marathon, blood and urine, around 2–3 times per week, including days where he was tested twice. He maintained that same approach into 2026. Now, he has broken the Marathon World Record, clocking 1:59:30 in London. Officially the first man to go sub-2 in the marathon.

Sawe's sponsor (adidas) paid $50k extra so he could get way more drug tests than usual—25+ out-of-competition tests in a short period—to prove he's 100% clean. Today he ran the first official marathon under 2 hours (in London). The post implies: this historic time is legit, not doped, at a time when Kenyan marathoners have faced doping doubts. It's transparency to rebuild trust in the sport.

You are probably too young to understand East African Community history and aspirations. It’s this kind of parochial nationalism led by Charles Njonjo that collapsed the first EAC.
