My @designsystemu Design System in 90 Days live cohort is one of my favorite things I do at work. I get to share everything I learned about design systems to a group of interested people, solving problems I have experience with. The next cohort starts on February 11, 2025. But not everyone has 12 weeks. Or $3,999. And even if you do, it might be overkill for you or your team. So, I’m opening a shorter version. On Wednesday, November 20, I’ll run the first instance of Design System in 90 Minutes, a 90-minute online class where I’ll share my top tips for setting up an organization-wide design system practice. I’ll open registration next Tuesday at 10am Eastern. Tickets will be $49. If you want to register early, reply with “90MIN” and I’ll DM you the link.

I can launch 10,000,000 websites in a lifetime AND I'll still get nervous anytime we hit that launch button. Anyone else like this?

@adriankuleszo So if you subscribe to Google Gemini you can switch on transcription in Google meetings. There’s also scribe that I’ve used and I have heard other people mention otter.

Coming back to this topic 👇 Do you guys know a note-taking tool that can automatically join all meetings hosted by any and all G-suite members and transcribe them for future reference for designers that couldn't join a meeting at that time? I appreciate all suggestions 🙏🏼
Adrian@adriankuleszo

What's the best tool to record Zoom/Google Meet calls and transcribe them automatically? I always take notes but this usually comes out a little messy and info gets lost easily. Time to automate this bit.

@thebrianto Taking time away and coming back with more clarity is such an underrated hack. I can totally relate to this happening when you spend a lot of time on social media, it’s why it’s so important to understand what your personal values and goals.

Have you ever done something for so long you stopped questioning whether or not you should do it? Maybe it's staying in your job... Maybe it's building your business... For me? It's writing online. This past month I: • Stopped writing on X. • Stopped taking on clients. • Put a pause on building my brand/business. And it's been weird. On one hand, I feel like I'm constantly running behind in life. On the other hand, I feel relieved that I'm not having to publishing everyday. Since I've taken a break from building online... I realized I was caught in the echo chamber of growing fast. → Reach $10k in 4 weeks. → Get to 1k subs in 90 days. -> Land 3 clients in 30 days. These sort of goals used to motivate me. But now? They feel empty. Here's what I noticed... When you spend your days constantly online, surrounded by other creators, it's easy to fall into the trap of copying other people's goals. There's a psychological theory called mimetic desire that explains this. In a nutshell: When someone wants something, it makes you want it as well. Creator A wants to hit a 6-figure month. So now you do as well. Creator B wants to have a massive audience. So now you do as well. Around and around the cycle goes, until you find yourself chasing goals that might not even align with what you truly want. It's a bit like being on a hamster wheel, running faster and faster, but not really getting anywhere meaningful. It's the memetic trap of social media. At the end of the day? I just want to: 1. Make money doing what I love (writing). 2. Help people along the way. So right now, I'm pivoting. Maybe it'll be rebranding myself as a personal brand strategist. Or maybe it'll be starting a new journey on LinkedIn. I don't know all the details yet... Regardless, I'm learning that it's okay to take a step back and reevaluate my goals and priorities. My question to you: Have you ever found yourself chasing the same goals as other people? P.S. I recently took a trip to the Las Vegas desert!

@Niqueyinflight To do lists are not as actionable and without prioritisation or clear overview in your calender of the tasks it’s harder to execute.

@ItsKieranDrew Literally in the same boat. It can be soo addictive to just keep going and really do have to reel it back in and remember time off is a non -negotiable for creative health.

This isn't hating on 9-5s either. It applies to entrepreneurs just as much (if not more!). I've struggled to take time off recently because speed is so addictive. But you have to give yourself permission to enjoy freedom, else you just end up with a prettier prison.

Let’s be real… Building a brand is not an easy task. It's taken years and a bucketload of courage to launch my own brand. That's why I created this checklist to help new founders get started and make a plan. 👇
