Good news: Anthropic just revealed Mythos- the most powerful AI model ever made
Bad news: you'll never be able to use it
I get it. It's so powerful that it could exploit cybersecurity
But I hate it. I don't love that a company gets to hand select who gets to use the best intelligence.
The companies who get access to Mythos will have a distinct economic advantage against those that don't
That feels unfair
I'm more of a fan of democratization of intelligence.
This feels like an opportunity for OpenAI to release something as powerful but put it in the hands of consumers. Trust the consumer by default. Sort of like with the OpenClaw situation

Rumor says the 6090 might have 1.79 TB/s bandwidth, so basically the same as the 5090
Apple's biggest weakness right now is bandwidth.
M3 Ultra: 819GB/s (LPDDR5-6400 1024bit)
M5 Max: 614GB/s (LPDDR5X-9600 512bit)
If the M5 Ultra uses LPDDR5X-9600, its bandwidth would hit 1200GB/s, which would close the gap with Nvidia a lot.
SK hynix is planning LPDDR6-14400, and while it's very unlikely, if it goes into the M6U, 1.8TB/s bandwidth would be possible.

Apple is opening Siri to rival AI assistants starting with iOS 27, ending ChatGPT's exclusive partnership with Apple Intelligence.
Any AI platform, including Gemini, Claude, Alexa, and Meta AI, will be able to integrate directly into Siri through a new App Store Extensions service. I
it's a significant shift that positions the iPhone as a more open AI platform, though Apple hasn't clarified whether an approval process will gate access.

Apple will let any AI platform - big apps include Gemini, Claude, Alexa, Meta AI etc. - to be queried in Siri if they enable an Extensions service inside of their iOS, macOS or iPadOS app. Apple will have a new section in the App Store. Unclear if there’s an approval process.

Claude is becoming the 'Life OS' - exactly what everyone wanted to be.
Feels like how Steve Jobs was initially against the idea of the app store and 3rd party devs. He wanted to control the everyday life end-to-end.
A series of no-app-OS-only smartphones from Claude and OpenAI are def. coming Q3/4 2027.

Apple's deal with Google goes way deeper than anyone thought.
Apple doesn't just get to fine-tune Gemini, they have full access to the model inside their own data centers.
That means they can distill (and are doing so) Gemini's knowledge into smaller models purpose-built for specific tasks, some small enough to run directly on your iPhone.
Apple can access Gemini's internal reasoning process, not just its outputs. That lets their smaller models learn how Gemini thinks, not just what it says. The result is compact models that punch way above their weight class.
