AFT’s New England team was in CT for a Farm Bill Listening Session hosted by @RepJahanaHayes w/ @CongressmanGT. AFT’s Chelsea Gazillo testified about the importance of farmland protection and the need to better support small farms by creating an Office of Small Farms at USDA.

The IRA invests $20B into helping producers protect their land from development, adopt climate-smart practices, reduce emissions, and build resilience. AFT has worked on these issues for 40 years, and is thrilled that the bill sees agriculture as part of the climate solution.
