@adam_kungu Here Balam is wrong. 44M can't cater for additional 21 teachers for 3 months per term. Teachers have to eat food, the cooks, electricity bills, Water bills, etc. 65K per term isn't much.

@adam_kungu This is a very serious issue. Mr Minister should desist from publicly shaming the school administrators. The issue of PTA is very pressing & the Ministry needs to harmonise on it.

Tomorrow morning, the last Ebola patient will be discharged from the isolation unit at Mulago Hospital. When that happens, Uganda starts counting down. If 42 days pass without a single new case, WHO guidelines stipulate that we will be declared Ebola free. I have said it before. Epidemics come to die in Uganda. We have the expertise. We have the most public health aware citizens in the world.

Minister Balaam is the most feared man now😂😂. I used this road when i was heading to Namanoga the road was in its bad state as usual but as i was driving back to Kasawo town i found when these guys had poured lumps of stone base on a road in a poor condition without even first grading it. Bro eza gov’t ozilya nozelila😂😂 Now the district engineer wants Balaam to find the road looking sexy by the time he comes to inspect kumbe😂🙌

This is how most car financing works in Uganda(Outside of the banks) You take a car financing facility of UGX40m, with a UGX15m down payment (40%). For a 24 month facility, your monthly repayments will be approximately UGX2.5m. That means in total you pay over UGX70m! 🤯🤯🤯

Important information! To all our esteemed Local Government leaders -Chairpersons LC V, City Mayors, Division Mayors, Town Council Mayors, and Sub-County Chiefs: I wish to share the guidance I received from the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser on Special Operations, General @mkainerugaba , on the importance of naming all our streets and roads in our Cities, Divisions, Municipalities, Town Councils, and other urban areas. Proper naming of streets and roads will greatly assist in easy location, emergency response, security operations, service delivery, urban planning, investment, and other important national operations. You are therefore directed to ensure that all streets and roads within your areas of jurisdiction are officially named by 30th August 2026. In this important exercise, Local Governments should consider honouring distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions to Uganda, Africa, and humanity, including: • Traditional rulers and cultural leaders • Kings and eminent historical figures • NRA liberation and resistance heroes • UPDF heroes and distinguished national servants • Former Presidents and national leaders • Outstanding Ugandans in public service, education, science, business, sports, arts, culture, and community development. All Local Governments should submit the approved list of names and Council resolutions to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, and ensure that the respective street name signs are installed before 5th September 2026. Finally, let us continue keeping our Cities, Municipalities, Town Councils, and communities clean. A clean environment reflects good leadership, effective service delivery, and respect for our citizens. Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi Hon. Minister of Local Government

@BalaamBarugahar Please Hon @BalaamBarugahar with due respect. A point of correction, in Uganda we don’t have Kings. We have The Kabaka of Buganda, Kyabazinga of Busoga, etc. King belongs only to the Kingdom of UK not Buganda. Next time don’t mixed up again.

In February, President @KagutaMuseveni told a respected national leader he would remove @kizzabesigye1’s lawyers, assign him state lawyers, and have the case concluded. From KB’s abduction in Kenya and illegal arraignment before a military court to this day, Museveni has controlled every step of a trial in which he is also the complainant. KB is falsely accused of plotting to assassinate him. Judge Baguma is enforcing Museveni’s orders, not the Constitution. This is not justice. It is rule by decree dressed up as a court of law.
Nagaba Nebert@nagabanebert1

The absolute state of Uganda’s judiciary is a national embarrassment. Forcing a 4-time presidential candidate to choose from a list of "state-provided lawyers" after the state itself state-sponsored the kidnapping and blockage of his real legal team is peak delusion. As Besigye rightfully fired back on the bench: "The absence of our lawyers was occasioned by the state itself". Justice Baguma isn't serving the constitution; he is serving a dynastic succession runway for Muhoozi. The bench is fully exposed!

I have closely followed Uganda’s cement industry for years — from the era when Tororo Cement and Hima Cement dominated the market, to the entry of Kampala Cement as a bold disruptor, and now, sadly, to its descent into receivership. Kampala Cement’s story is not just about one company. It is a story about ambition, debt-funded growth, industrial strategy, governance, quality, liquidity, competition and what can go wrong when a promising manufacturing bet begins to crack from within. Following the recent appointment of receivers over the company, I went back into the numbers, filings, debt records, shareholder structure, governance questions, parliamentary scrutiny, customer-credit pressures and the events that preceded the receivership. The result is a deep, incisive and must-read business investigation into how a company that once shook up Uganda’s cement market — growing into a UGX174.7 billion-a-year manufacturer at its peak — ended up reporting zero sales and facing enforcement over a USD49.3 million TDB debenture amid USD82.98 million in registered obligations. My boda guy has just informed me that, some civil servants in Nakapiripirit today reportedly declined to attend a meeting organized by the Ministry of Tourism (@MTWAUganda ) aimed at educating participants on the role of traditional medicine in modern society according to those present, some attendees first asked where the chief guests were coming from, when they were told the delegation was from Kampala, they allegedly chose not to attend, saying they feared being embarrassed like primary children, believing @BalaamBarugahar & his team might be among the visitors due to wat they described as a previous incident involving government workers in the Mbale region
