Either way…. “You were caught talking at xxx, xxx and xxx about your ideological views - you were midway through a diatribe on why being part of the LGBTQIA+ community should be considered a mental illness/condition. I have since had a meeting with you, making it absolutely clear that making comments like that is deeply offensive and ideologically abhorrent and in no way appropriate to be preaching within the walls of the college. We talked about what effect saying such things may have on your peers, and staff. You were receptive to the feedback and promised that you would not talk this way in college again. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that this written warning will remain active on your student record for the duration of 3 months after which they can become spent but will remain on your student record.”

I often think about all those Victorian campaigners who we were taught to sneer at. The feminist activists who opened their houses to prostituted women & children and managed to make sure that incest was criminalised (1908 I think). They are still laughed at as uptight, as moralising prudes, but they made history. As an aside, it's telling that the male activists for civil rights are afforded dignity. I don't give a toss how unpopular our view is, we're right.
