@StatisticUrban I mean a lot of people feel similarly about NYC or Boston too Big city life is not for everyone but jobs dictate where people go Everyone would love a small town life in Appalachia but it's not realistic

I would genuinely rather live in a mid-sized town in Pennsylvania or something than ever move to the Dallas suburbs. Plausibly I'm much more likely to end up in the Dallas suburbs, because jobs, but still. Would be really, really far down my list of ideal places.

@MAGAPE1488 @j_fishback @ByronDonalds Yup agreed but I was trying to say I think it's more on the cities refusing to be hard on crime or dedicate resources When in comparison the suburbs are rural areas are great places to be

@FinanceQuacker @yacineMTB Don't think it's sarcasm, identity politics is an antiquated idea, sadly nation states are leveraging that in social media operations to divide people, lucky carney is actually doing a good job by not acting like a politician.

@ZR1Trader A random huge insider bet could possibly tip off our enemies and endanger everyone on the mission I feel like if it wasn't serious he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist Again obviously not defending the actions of politicans and their staffer that's bad too but this is worse

Not advocating for this, but I would much rather have someone putting their life on the line for the country making some loot than the senile politicians who send em to war or illegal immigrants committing fraud. This is backwards. How's the Epstein list crackdown going?

DOJ releases more information about the U.S. soldier who won more than $400,000 by betting on Maduro's removal. Gannon Ken van Dyke could face up to 60 years in prison on all charges. Prosecutors are also seizing the money he won.

" I wonder why it's so cheap?" - oh yeah....Gainesville, Florida, is frequently ranked as a high-crime, dangerous city, particularly due to high rates of property crime and, in some analyses, violent crime compared to other college towns. Data suggests a high chance of becoming a victim.

We have never said this before but here’s a near perfect MCM in Gainesville, FL that is known as the Tree House, originally designed in 1956 and is FLW inspired (obviously). CLFO $349,900

Once this gets cleared up, it becomes a reason to move higher. Price hasn’t reacted negatively to bad headlines for the last ~2 weeks. Good news hits even harder.

@CryptVanWinkle @YIMBYLAND Exactly my thoughts too! So having the city implement mass transit is much more realistic than getting the suburbs and rural demographic involved Which would be nessary for HSR

@causeiexist @YIMBYLAND I'm with you But at the end of the day value for money is 80% of decision for the demographic that uses the highway imo It's hard to drive a good value prop if you spend $60 on Ubers every night you're in the city not even including the train ticket

@FinanceQuacker @YIMBYLAND I think this argument doesn't realize that people will eat up "basically air travel but better and it decongests the main highway". People will fill trains and they'll take taxis/a friend to do it

@YIMBYLAND High speed rail is cool and fancy But in most places it just can't happen without induced demand from both destinations having good mass transit inside the city It's the only way to get people less car dependent and build density too

@YIMBYLAND I feel like there needs to be more of a focus on rail/mass transit inside cities. Most people will not take a train if they still need to Uber within the city. It's cheaper to rent a car Similar to Brightline this train would have demand but not enough demand to make sense
