I know this can’t be right, but I swear I don’t remember anyone ever missing a game for the Phillies with a migraine before the season. Obviously, we’ve all gotten headaches from watching them over the years, but that doesn’t count

@Cernovich Or this? Black voters challenging new Alabama maps quickly filed responses Friday morning asking the court to deny Alabama’s motion, arguing some absentee votes had already been cast in the May 19 primary.

Voting had already begun in Virginia before the gerrymander. That meant that, under state law, they had to wait until the election cycle was over before redrawing maps. This was all clear under Virginia law. Many Democrats at the state level flagged the issue and were waved away.

@uncatherio As someone else has stated the red button literally does nothing. You could get rid of it and just give a single button that if you press it you will die unless more than half of everyone else also pushes the button.

I keep finding it surprising that people do not understand that choosing red has a side effect: it increases the number of people that must choose blue.

@FineEric @SandyofCthulhu @_mAKE_mE_mAD_ The real reason you think those did not count as heritage is the same reason the black girl turned martial arts into her theater show, which is only caring about things for their technicality & not its meaning. To begin with, swords are totally useless in industrial wars.

@SandyofCthulhu @_mAKE_mE_mAD_ No no no! All Japanese swords are specially made katanas that are handed down to worthy successors and will slice a tank in half they are so sharp!

@_mAKE_mE_mAD_ Your sailors sank living American captives into the sea. So destroying some mass-produced swords doesn’t seem so terrible.

@EPM108 I am a licensed gun owner who can carry concealed and I don’t like this. That’s not even something you would use in a war zone. Thats meant to carry into a subway in a backpack and fuck everyone up. How can my concealed carry match that?? Fuck that!!

@betoid777 @bitacorabeagle Is it? Smaller organisms can go through an entire generation is moments. Over a shit ton of time and with positive reinforcement (successful designs breed more and survive better), why not

Recuerdo, allá por los lejanos 2000, como los creacionistas utilizaban el motor flagelar para decir que era imposible que la evolución consiguiese algo tan complejo sin la intervención de un "diseñador" Hoy han demostrado su funcionamiento 1/3

@BJdabomb @winning_tactic @RealDonKeith Didn’t you know it already illegal for people to just go around and shoot people? Therefore there is no need for gun control because everyone obviously follows the law!

@winning_tactic @RealDonKeith Did you read any of what you wrote? They’re here illegally, it’s illegal for them to vote. They don’t vote. How do you think they got here? I think they escape their country for a better life here. You believe in conspiracies that the Democrats brought them here. Fuck you’re dumb

@TheMuppetPastor Yeah this BS I’ve never once seen someone with corn on a pizza in PA, let alone as an option. Unless there is some town in the middle of nowhere PA that consumes only corn topped pizza in enough quantities to out eat Philly there is no way.

@onlineinsane I think it's asking him to rework 8+9=17 as either 7+10 by moving a 1 from the 8 to the 9, or 10+7 by moving 2 from the 9 to the 8. Why you would ever teach math this way, aside from establishing the concept of manipulating variables to make equivalent functions, I have no clue

🤔 📹 Via @GHBSmith

@rationalyankee I understand this but with the limited challenge system doesn’t this mitigate the issue a bit. Are pitchers/catchers going to waste a valuable challenge that that curve ball called a ball managed to just clip the front end? You still have the human element here

The rulebook's implied 3D strike zone dates to 1886. For 140 years, nobody enforced it literally because nobody could prove it wasn't being enforced. Umpires standing 60 feet back, slightly elevated, have always used something closer to the front edge or midpoint as their reference. Not by rule. Just viewing geometry. The full depth of the plate was always theoretical. When ABS actually tried to call the rulebook zone, the results looked alien to everyone. Hitters, pitchers, fans. Calls that were technically correct by the written rule felt completely wrong because no one had ever actually seen that zone called in a real game. The 3D rulebook definition wasn't being secretly honored by generations of umpires. It was being quietly and unknowingly ignored. We just didn't know it until a computer tried to follow it to the letter and everyone involved realized the rule was extremely flawed.
Richard@RichardRE99

@Duke_113 @rationalyankee Yes. The rules aren't some divine texts handed down by some all-knowing higher power. Can argue that they should have rewritten already, but arguing that pitches that have never been called strikes and would make the game worse if they were should be because Rules seems absurd.
