Ain’t no way. Goff is solid production wise in that scheme and with those players but comparing all NFC North QBs in a Vacuum he’s ranking 4 for me. Kyler will have a great year imo. Caleb takes another step in that scheme. Love will keep being a killer.

This is the last time I wanna talk about this, but I wanna make a point. I have nothing but respect for what Jaylen Brown has done here. Future HOF, #7 is getting retired, helped bring a championship to Boston, and I’ll always appreciate that. But some of you genuinely cannot separate appreciation for a player from actual team building logic. Extending Jaylen into a $70M per year player while Tatum is also on a supermax just is not sustainable under the current CBA unless your roster around them is overwhelmingly worth the financial restrictions that come with it. Could you survive it for a year or two? Sure. But the goal is maximizing and extending a championship window, not forcing yourself into first apron/second apron hell where every mechanism to improve the roster gets stripped away. You lose flexibility, depth becomes harder to maintain, contracts become harder to move, and one injury suddenly cripples the structure of the team. And another Finals appearance or championship is not guaranteed. The East is getting better, younger teams are improving every year, and on the other side you already have teams like OKC and San Antonio who are way ahead of the curve long term from an asset/flexibility standpoint. At a certain point it’s not even about can Jaylen and Jayson work moving forward, It’s about whether it limits your ceiling moving forward. Two things can be true at once: Jaylen is an incredible Celtic who helped win a ring, and committing nearly $140M annually to two players under this CBA objectively becomes bad long-term team building, it’s made more sense now, than it ever has, to move on.
