A woman has hosted over 2,000 guests on Airbnb across 4 properties in 7 years. She's also an Airbnb guest herself roughly 15 trips a year. She knows both sides of the platform better than anyone. A man's flight got canceled at the gate, three hours before a wedding he was supposed to be in. The airline rebooked him for the next morning. Handed him a $12 meal voucher. Said "sorry for the inconvenience." He almost just accepted it and went to find a hotel. His brother-in-law — who spent 7 years working airline customer relations before switching industries — was on the phone with him within ten minutes. "Don't leave that counter yet. There are 6 things most passengers never ask for after a cancellation or long delay, and the airline is not going to volunteer any of them. None of it is a secret exactly — it's just never offered unless you specifically ask." He spent the next 20 minutes at the counter asking different questions than he normally would have. Same cancellation. Same airline. He walked away with a confirmed seat on an earlier replacement flight, a hotel voucher, meal compensation covering the actual cost of dinner, and a compensation claim filed that resulted in a check arriving several weeks later. Om en höger klagar på sitt jobb eller arbetsplats.. det gör han det inte. Han byter jobb eller startar ett eget företag. Om en vänster klagar på sitt jobb – så är det chefen, företaget eller kollegorna det är fel på. Han kräver kollektivavtal, strejk, förändringar för hela orten och protesterar mot företaget så att det ska passa honom. Om en höger är missnöjd med sin bostad eller hyra, så flyttar han, renoverar eller köper något annat. Om en vänster är missnöjd med sin bostad eller hyra, så kräver han hyresstopp, mer bidrag, regleringar för alla och protesterar mot hyresvärdar och politiker. Om en höger misslyckas med en affär eller en investering som går snett, så reser han sig upp, dammar av sig och försöker igen imorgon. Om en vänster har slut på pengar den 24:e, så skyller han på att de rika har för mycket och måste bidra mer, skyller på att lotterivinsten inte gick hem förra veckan och muttrar att han har så himla otur. Om en höger ser det här – så skickar han det till några kompisar för ett gott skratt. Om en vänster ser det här – så försöker han argumentera emot, få det bortplockat och radera mig från Facebook."

@RupertLowe10 This is the first time I have disagreed with a Restore policy as smoking does impact everyone, particularly through the NHS which taxpayers pay for, people having secondary ‘smoking’ let alone those having to clean up the room!

A Restore Britain Government will allow pub landlords and other venue owners to install a smoking room. If adults want to smoke inside a contained room, and the landlord is happy to provide that, then it's none of our business. Crack on.

Before Windows95, before Oasis released Wonder Wall and before OJ Simpson faced trial, our new PM Andy Burnham had a job. He had a job as a journalist working for a little publishing company for 3 years. This is the only job any of the new UK Government Cabinet has had. Other than those three years, more than 30 years ago the entire cabinet has only ever worked in tax payer funded roles. None of them have ever had to make a sale. None of them have been paid to pour a pint. None have felt a sick feeling about making payroll. None have been answerable to investors. In the UK 50% of the jobs are small businesses and almost ALL of the jobs growth is small businesses. None of them has ever started, owned or run one. Wouldn’t it be nice if just one of them had some experience in making a small business profitably grow before having a crack at the 7th largest economy. Imagine what it must feel like to KNOW that your wage is paid for by the tax-payer. Imagine the certainty and security working for a government that never fires anyone for anything. Imagine how it would feel knowing you could blow out a budget with no real consequences or you could completely screw up a project and nothing bad would happen. Imagine that level of insulation and comfort for decades. I can’t. I’ve been in business for the last 25 years. If I don’t sell I don’t eat. If I screw up I face very real consequences very fast. Millions of small businesses are being asked to get out there and hire people and grow the economy by a team of people who’ve never had a proper job. Surely something isn’t right with that?

When @RestoreBritain and @RupertLowe10 form the next government, please can you enact a law that prevents criminals not just from high office but being an MP too?

If the speculation is right that Andy Burnham offered Rachel Reeves defence, that really doesn’t bode well. She has no interest in defence and stood in the way of giving our military the resources it needs. A relief she turned it down (if speculation correct). She should never have been offered it in the first place. Indicates Burnham not serious about defence.

Amazing news, but the battle is not over. One Login still exists, along with digital veteran cards, digital driving licences and digital wallets. One Login, which is a mandatory single sign-on portal for anyone wanting to run a limited company, must be scrapped. We need a Digital Bill of Rights that safeguards our freedom to live offline. We must protect cash, reject mandatory digital systems, and roll back mass surveillance in our public spaces. This fight is far from over. Keep pushing. Special mention to @Togetherdec, which I was once grateful to be part of, for continuing this fight. I have no doubt the pressure they applied to Burnham and the Labour Government in recent weeks played a significant role in this welcome change of direction. Massive well done.
