@EliLake I disagree. The press has beclowned themselves over the years and brought shame and wrath upon themselves. This person solidifies the feeling and casts a shadow on all the reporters at city hall. Let them fix their own house.

@Jason @RepThomasMassie How about the $40 million Dramacrats spent to redistrict Republicans out of Virginia. Obama campaigned heavily for it. The entire measure was illegal as early voting had already started. The Supreme Courts of Virginia and the US threw the ballot measure out.

We need to get big money out of politics — $20m to oppose @RepThomasMassie?! Wild… how can that be?!? 1. We should limit donations in local races to [ checks notes ] people who live in that location 2. We should cap all corporations at $1m to any candidate 3. We should ban or cap all these superpacs Of course, I’m not sure how we get money out of politics if the politicians are getting all the money!
Quiver Quantitative@QuiverQuant

JUST IN: The Republican Jewish Coalition Victory Fund just filed another $470,000 of spending against Thomas Massie. There has now been more than $20,000,000 of outside spending in this race. It is the most expensive House primary in history. Track election spending on Quiver.

@Act_Forward @SethDillon Ok but maybe letting the people who caused the problem profit from fixing it and getting their reputations back is not the best option. The hospital should have been forced to pay a different pediatric center to provide this care.

@SethDillon Amazing! There's very few people in the entire country who are trying to help de-transitioners, it's complex medically and still avoided. To have a place where all of these children and young adults can go is critically important. A huge win, and critical care.

1. This piece relies entirely on stories provided by people who hate Israel. 2. It includes a comment from a former Israeli prime minister that appears to buttress those claims but is too general, too uninformed, to do so. (It’s hard not to imagine that that has to do with domestic politics.) 3. The piece is ostensibly balanced. (It notes, in the beginning and end, that Hamas committed sexual violence against Israelis on October 7.) But that’s a deceptive, or false, symmetry: The violence of October 7 doesn’t require any elaborate and unverifiable anecdotes. It’s mostly on video; Hamas has bragged about its crimes. This false symmetry appears to strengthen Kristof’s argument — it underscores his role as impartial observer — but it’s false. It masks an anti-Israel bias that has been on full display for years. 4. I don’t have trouble believing that some Israeli forces have curbed or even violated the rights of some Palestinians — that is one of the inevitable and lamentable side effects of any prolonged military operation — but this article doesn’t make that case. This article is a well laundered bit of Hamas propaganda that Kristof and the Times will ultimately regret.
Nicholas Kristof@NickKristof

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

From your lips to God's ears but, the Republican electorate hasn't exactly demonstrated good decision making abilities over the last decade. Also, it seems likely Rubio is going to run. As much as I really like DeSantis, if he gets in the race, as is being rumored, the vote of people looking for a "normal Republican" will be split & we'll almost surely end up with a Vance plurality win.

‘A young Jewish woman was pressured by her CEO to accept being assigned a non-Jewish name at work, in the directory, email & office interactions to avoid offending clients. In Australia, where a trans person’s chosen gender & chosen name must be accepted to avoid offence. If I live to be 100 I will not get over today’s testimony.’ These are the words of one of our Australian followers in response to yesterday’s hearing of the Australian Royal Commission on Antisemitism. She adds, ‘I tried imagining the fallout if anyone had told India Willoughby that he had to use his male name. Then I realised I didn't have the brain capacity to hold the hypocrisy & insanity of both these things.’ One minority is expected to erase itself to avoid offence, while another is protected from offence by institutional force. That is a profound double standard. We say: antisemitism is not a burden for Jews to manage, but an entrenched conspiracy theory that society must confront.

There’s no reason a deep red state like Ohio should have lawless Leftist enclaves like Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland. Ohio should pass a constitutional amendment (can pass with 51% of the popular vote) that ALL citizens of the state can vote for the leadership of the 3 biggest cities, including mayor and city council. All citizens use these cities, they travel through these cities, they conduct commerce with these cities, and they help fund these cities. They’re often victims of the lawlessness in these cities. They should have a right to vote for the leadership of these cities. Open up the vote to all citizens, and our big cities will get cleaned up almost overnight.
Vivek Ramaswamy@VivekGRamaswamy

It’s a shame that city leaders in my hometown of Cincinnati have declared it a “sanctuary city.” That’ll change when I’m in charge of Ohio. We’ll never condone violating the law, or else the people lose respect for the rule of law itself.

It's fine when they do it to me. But when they do it to non-Jews already taking heat for resisting the pressure of their natural clique, they risk provoking a spiteful reaction. I fear, though I can't excuse it, that this is part of the @megynkelly story. Trump has remained steadfast despite the abuse from liberal Jews.
Joshua Blanchard@philoshua

@noam_dworman The idea - from a pro-Israel perspective, no less - that you are a "kapo" is almost beautiful in its wackiness. It's like the leftists who call Peter Beinart a "zionist shill".

A lot of what you say is true, but there is a stinker of a caveat: millionaires bankrolled the Democrats in earlier years because, although Democrats may not have been fiscally conservative, they were socially more liberal which made for great virtue signaling (before that was even a phrase). Millionaires and now billionaires have never approved of socialism which the majority liken to the antithesis of fiscal intelligence. They still went along with the social side, unfortunately, because the wealthier they became, the more envious the 'little people' felt, and the more angry. It was then, when the social side hit the bar of anti-capitalism that both the millionaires and billionaires realised the comfortable horse they'd backed for centuries was lame, and worse, demented. So they've done what others have done: found another mount, embraced the conservative side again and will do such as long as they're tolerated in their new race...and profitable.

I just want to personally thank Mayor Zohran Mamdani for scaring away the billionaire class from NYC and helping bring billions in tax revenue to my district of Brickell Miami, where Ken Griffin’s Citadel is building its massive Class A office tower next to my office and bringing thousands of high earning professionals to the area. The economic shift into Downtown Miami is truly transformative. Billions in new investments, new jobs, new infrastructure, and a growing tax base can help fund schools, transportation, and the modernization of Miami as it evolves into the new Wall Street of America. Keep the expats coming! @ZohranKMamdani #kengriffen #citadel #miami

The Pratt campaign is interesting because he intuitively understands that the only path to victory is through a media spectacle. California is a one-party state, and the entire institutional apparatus is designed to create a closed system ruled by the Left. Mobilizing the public via media narratives is the only avenue for shifting public opinion, and, perhaps, votes. The Pratt campaign is still a long shot, but he is playing the game with style and skill. If I were in Los Angeles, I would cast my vote for him.
