I don’t think people around the world realize how bad the attack on Lebanon was today. It’s BAD. Like 9/11 BAD. Hospitals are overflowing and do not have enough blood. We still don’t know what the death toll is. This is TERRORISM. Pure and Simple. April 8. Never forget.

Israel got away with targeting healthcare in Gaza. It’s no surprise it is doing it in Lebanon too. trib.al/Abmyci6

Let's start with this pledge. The next Democratic President will never have the Israeli PM in the Situation Room. Trump having Netanyahu there before launching an immoral and illegal war is a betrayal of the American people.

Israel has a clear pattern: whenever diplomacy shows even a glimmer of resolving conflicts peacefully, it moves to derail the talks. In his memoir "Bibi: My Story", Netanyahu openly admits that when Obama signed the JCPOA he "vowed to do everythig to roll it back". “I attacked the deal mercilessly, calling it a capitulation and a mistake of historic proportions”, he admits. "I went for the jugular"! The same pattern is on full display now. Israel’s recent vicious attack on Lebanon - right in the middle of a ceasefire which DID include Lebanon - follows the exact playbook. Israel did it with Obama. It’ll try to do it with Trump too. Whenever diplomacy appears to work, he goes for the jugular!

Where to find the words anymore? What to say when Israel continues to behave like this? And no condemnation at all from the UK Government. They carry on business as usual as if Israel aren't carrying out genocides in both Gaza and Lebanon. aje.news/jf7llm

Netanyahu is an absolute war criminal. So is Trump. In a real world, they would be in a cell block in The Hague.

Belgium's Foreign Minister: "We were at the embassy with my delegation, just a few hundred metres from where the missiles struck. This must stop. The ceasefire between the US, Israel and Iran must include Lebanon!"
Maxime PREVOT@prevotmaxime

🇱🇧 (EN/FR/NL) I came to Beirut today to show our full support to the Lebanese authorities and to express our deep solidarity with the families affected by the violent conflict opposing Israel to Hezbollah. Just before I was commending President Aoun for offering to open official negotiations with Israel towards a ceasefire, Israel launched, with no previous warning, one of the most massive strikes since the beginning of the hostilities, allegedly causing hundreds of civilian victims. We were at the embassy with my delegation, just a few hundred metres from where the missiles struck. This must stop. The ceasefire between the US, Israel and Iran must include Lebanon! @BelgiumMFA @BelgiumLebanon

To call the condemnations hollow is an understatement. They serve a distinct purpose — the pressure release valve for the state backed settlement movement.

How antisemitism works If you are on TikTok & use the word Zionist in a negative context, you are antisemitic. If you are on TikTok & use the word Zionist in a positive context, you are not antisemitic. If you call out the Israel lobby for having nefarious & inordinate influence over US politicians, you are antisemitic. If you are AIPAC or the ADL, and brag about how much influence you have over US politicians, you are not antisemitic. If you point out that Israel drags the US into wars, you are antisemitic. But if you are the Prime Minister of Israel and say "America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won’t get in the way," then you are not antisemitic. Get it?
Aaron Regunberg@AaronRegunberg

On the left is ADL declaring it is antisemitic to say Israel pulled the US into this war. On the right is NYTimes’ reporting that Netanyahu directly persuaded Trump to attack Iran. Antisemitism is real. Thanks to ADL’s crying wolf, nobody will care when it really matters.

Iran needs to know that Trump can control Bibi. That is the single most important factor for any kind of durable peace. Forcing Israel to stop hammering Lebanon is the test. If the administration doesn't understand this, there is really no chance that the ceasefire will hold.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

JD Vance: "I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't. We never made that promise, we never indicated that was gonna be the case."
