@ScoutingTheRefs Tennis 🎾 umpires lived with this for years. they did just fine.
There is no shame in occasionally misjudging a ball moving near 100 mph by being off by a few inches.
English

Is it not embarrassing or humiliating to call a ball on a pitch that 30-40,000 people - and millions at home - clearly saw was right in the middle of the strike zone? 👀👀

Richie Garcia, former MLB umpire, on ABS system (via @AP): "I think it's embarrassing, embarrassing to the umpires that are calling the game. Nobody likes to be humiliated in front of 30,000, 40,000 people."

@capitalweather How is that cold front and the rain going to impact the blossoms? 🌸
English

Surge in warmth today with highs mainly in the mid- and upper 70s.
Don't get used to it... another strong front tomorrow morning will send temperatures tumbling.
Rain also a good bet Friday. Then a cool weekend before readings rise again.

I'm with @MarkHalperin. I think regime change has always been the plan, and what comes off as cavalier, "winging it," etc., is an Administration that does not trust Congress not to leak and a President who says all sorts of stuff to keep people off balance.

@GWallaceWTOP How about at 10:35 AM Friday kickoff in Melbourne!

@MarkZuckerman There has GOT to be a way for schedule makers and AI to keep teams that only visit once a year from playing in a northern outdoor park in March and April. Rescheduling those are a pain. Teams in division will visit again.

@RoyalFamily Why does His Majesty wear Her Late Majesty’s cypher on his shoulder boards instead of his own?

Dem CA Rep Khanna Wants King Charles To Meet With Victims/Lawmakers About Epstein Files When He Speaks To A Joint Meeting of Congress Next Month
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) tells Fox he wants King Charles to meet with Epstein victims and others when he comes to Capitol Hill next month to deliver a speech before a Joint Meeting of Congress.
British authorities arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew and the brother of King Charles, in connection with their inquiry into the Epstein matter. Khanna says King Charles could shed light on what the royal family knew about Andrew or Epstein.
Khanna tells Fox he wants the King to meet with victims, then he and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and the Oversight Committee.
Khanna stressed that he would request Charles to appear. Fox pressed Khanna on whether he would ask that the King be subpoenaed. But Khanna was not ready to go there yet.
One Oversight Committee source tells Fox that this request is “very delicate” and they risk “an international incident” by asking King Charles to meet with the committee

@ByronYork @WSJopinion If only there were a US Navy Base in the Gulf. Oh wait, the Fifth Fleet’s Home Port is in Bahrain 🇧🇭!
Hell, we still have troops in Germany 🇩🇪 and Japan 🇯🇵 81 years later and in South Korea 🇰🇷 73 years later. This isn’t new.

The Crusades were not random wars of aggression. The Crusades were the Eastern Christian response to centuries of Islamic conquest. They were primarily defensive wars.
In early Christianity there were five centers of high authority: Rome, Alexandria, Constantine, Antioch, and Jerusalem.
Each one had a Bishop and administered a large region, both politically and religiously. The origins were Apostolic and the cities were the core seats of Christian authority.
Islam rose out of the Arabian Peninsula in the early 600s. Almost immediately after consolidating power in Arabia, the Muslim state launched rapid military expansion against its neighbors from 632 onward.
Islam took 3 out of 5 of the Patriarchal Holy Sees (Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem) in the 7th century. The Crusades were the Eastern counteroffensive.
The Muslims had conquered the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) and were in Tours, France by 732.
It took over 700 years for the Spaniards to expel the invaders. The Reconquista was a parallel Western front.
The Ottomans laid seige to central Europe for hundreds of years. They took the Balkans and Constantinople fell in 1453.
Vlad Tepes of Wallachia (reimagined in modern times as the horror character Dracula) fought them off heroically for 6 years and drove them out of his principality.
They laid seige on Vienna in 1529 and were expelled from Vienna 160 years later.
Only Rome remained from the original Holy Sees after 1453 when Constantinople fell.
Things you don't learn in school these days.

@Russellmania621 Differences between the rules:
🏀 Ball has to be out of your hand before 0.0 to count.
🏒 Puck has to be across the line before 0.0 to count.
Big difference when it comes to strageties.
English

There was 0.2 on the clock at end of regulation for #Caps and #Avalanche ..
They dropped the puck and it was over. No timeouts. No wasting time.
In the #NCAATournament or an #NBA game, that final 0.2 would have taken ten minutes, with useless TO after worthless stoppage.
