The situation in Tigray is entering a far more dangerous phase than many international actors publicly acknowledge. What makes the current moment especially alarming is not one isolated development, but the convergence of multiple destabilizing factors: genocidewatch.com/single-post/et…

💔 This #MothesDay, Amhara mothers cry in agony. Their children have been killed, homes destroyed, and little ones left starving all under the violence of the Ethiopian government. 😢 Their grief is immense, their courage unbroken. The world must see. The world must act. @HRW

Mr. Ambassador @TiborPNagyJr, you noted that Getachew “makes two indisputable points: the recent war devastated Tigray, and renewed conflict would do so again.” But why present this as a novel insight? Tigrayan politicians and scholars have emphasized these points for years. The key difference is credibility, Getachew’s shifting positions make his statements difficult to take seriously, as they often appear aimed at appeasing whichever audience holds influence at the moment. It is also hard to believe you overlooked the repeated appeals from Tigray to the Prosperity Party, the African Union, and the broader international community to uphold and fully implement the #COHA. You are aware that Prime Minister Abiy effectively undermined the agreement by revoking the TPLF’s legal party status, despite it being a signatory, and by failing to ensure the withdrawal of external forces from Tigray. I hope @TheAfricaReport will also publish the TPLF’s rejoinder to provide a more balanced perspective. @addisstandardam @tigraionline @DawitSeyoum14 @TghatMedia @addisstandard

Getachaw Reda's @TheAfricaReport op-ed will be either hated or loved - but he makes 2 indisputable points. The recent war devastated Tigray, and renewed conflict would do it again. Leaders decide but people suffer. No excuse to do this again. God forbid! theafricareport.com/417910/ethiopi…

⚖️ International law restricts the death penalty to the “most serious crimes.” Nonviolent drug-related offences do NOT meet that threshold under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. #StopExecutions @AmbMonicaJuma @UN_Vienna

There is an ongoing threat of genocide and other mass atrocities in #Ethiopia. In April 2026, @genocidewatch published an Ethiopia Country Report. They have determined that Ethiopia is currently at: ‼️Stage 3: Discrimination ‼️Stage 5: Organization ‼️Stage 10: Denial This determination is based on violence against civilians in ongoing regional conflicts, escalating tensions, and the continued denial of atrocities committed in #Tigray. genocidewatch.com/single-post/et…

Dear @StateDept @AfricaUnions @EU_Commission @UNGeneva @UN_HRC @HumanRightsCtte @UN @HouseofCommons Arab League holds emergency meeting on Sudan and Ethiopia!!️ The Arab League has held an emergency meeting to discuss Sudan's allegations against Ethiopia, the Middle East Monitor reported. The Sudanese Arab League held an emergency meeting in Cairo on May 2, 2018 to consider allegations of attacks from Ethiopia. According to Egyptian media, the meeting was called based on a request by Sudan to discuss the issue of targeted attacks from Ethiopia. At the meeting, Sudanese Ambassador to Cairo and Arab League Representative Imad Adawi said Sudan had been "repeatedly attacked by Ethiopia. The emergency talks come days after Sudan summoned its ambassador from Ethiopia for consultations over alleged involvement in a drone attack targeting Khartoum International Airport.@BerhanuAsres #ActNow
