part of the reason "attention as a currency has topped" is because too many people think of themselves as "content creators" with the expectation of making a living for "creating content"
supply side influx, game gets solved, incentives full face up now with payments etc etc
"attention" isnt dead ofc, it's just far more concentrated in value (far fewer people actually have motion or respect than the masses shouting hoping for attention)

A few more things to add - since I see a lot of people missing the point.
1. The Solomon presale was listed as PERMISSIONED (or, if not explicitly permissioned, its in the category other than PERMISSIONLESS) which assumes some DD was done by @MetaDAOProject
This is different from me launching a token and me launching a polymarket for it - because a corollary of that would be that the guy would end up with like 5% of the supply (prorated) of my worthless coin that he would have a hard time selling.
How will you trap people into being your exit liquidity if its a market about some random garbage thing no one cares about and no one gave a Nintendo Seal of Approval ™️

2. This case is the epitome of what is wrong with CT.
Its the fact that in 2025, people who extract from you not just steal but LAUGH at you.
They do this bullshit song and dance how they're "traders" and "prediction market junkies".
In 2021 we had people rugging, tornadoing, and that was it.
I can't recall a case except for that british NFT Balloon guy where the thief would take the money and laugh at you directly or indirectly.
Here they take money from you and they post snide commentary how they're just "trenching" with you.
If you think that's okay, then no complaints whenever you're on the receiving end next time someone orchestrates a similar "highly profitable strategy" on you.
And it will only become more common.
So, no, @nextfckingthing is not really to blame for thinking rationally, nor is anyone else who was thinking that the categorization/mark of approval means something.

While I will say some of the blame falls with @MetaDAOProject in how they leave it open for gaming, I will also say the bulk of the problem is the simple fact that @Polymarket (and any other permissionless prediction market) simply incentivize this. Now that people have gotten burned sufficiently (noise has been made..), any perception of edge in these markets is gone and people will not bother with these markets anymore. I am bullish on futarchy but honestly the presales at this stage make little sense if there's no: - social - onchain - general alignment factors To filter out bidders. If its just linear, that's a bit stupid and its not optimal. Again, its still better than kyc gating things. But it needs to be changed.
