The Eastern Freeway is not free anymore. Touted and projected as an engineering marvel to ease daily commute, the freeway is turning out to be like other roads of Mumbai always chaotic and facing bumper to bumper traffic. The road leading to Mumbai City runs at a snail's pace from Wadala to Mazgaon . This has become a common feature @easternfreeway. Traffic police presence is negligible and they too are busy in issuing echallan for minor traffic violations rather than manning the traffic. MMRDA should now float a tender for an ill-conceived, inefficiently managed new freeway at taxpayers expense.

Residents of Lotus Colony woke up to no water supply, a day after the BMC Budget announcement of big infra boost for water Supply . This has been an annual feature where the BMC announces Big Budget allocation with pomp & show but fails to implement and utilise the funds. The Corporation should first focus on the existing infrastructure for the day to day consumption and then aim for the big infra push. The issue of irregular/ no water supply during Ramzan in MANKHURD SHIVAJI NAGAR Constituency has left the residents high & dry. The Water Department of M East Ward needs to pull up its socks to restore supply before the situation spirals out into a law & order problem.
