Greenland in USA&CDA🇬🇱

On June 21 2009, Self-Government replaced Home Rule. Some main achievements were: the recognition of Kalaallit (Greenlanders) as a people w right to self-determination under intl law, transfer of addt'l areas of responsibility, and a provision for Greenland to become independent.

As the Greenlandic Representation in Washington DC, we work in collaboration with @DKambUSA to ensure proper information about Greenland and constructive dialogue with the Congressmen of the United States focusing on the 🇬🇱🇩🇰🇺🇸 relationship. Together with my colleague @GreenlandRepDC we had a very substantial exchange w @SenatorCollins on current international affairs, including Arctic security. The Pine Tree State and the Kingdom of Denmark share strong historical bonds. Together we build bridges into the future.

Together with my Greenlandic colleague @GreenlandRepDC, had contructive exchange w @RepHageman on the importance of Arctic security. The Kingdom of Denmark has been a staunch 🇺🇸 ally for centuries. We reiterated that the Kingdom of Denmark wants to work with our American friends on confronting our adversaries, as we have always done.

Last week, had a productive discussion w @RepJeffries alongside @GreenlandRepDC. Discussed longstanding 🇩🇰🇺🇸 relationship, which celebrate 225 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relationship in 2026. We agreed on the importance of working closely together to strengthen security in Arctic region & reinforce our strong transatlantic relationship

Thanks to @RepTimMooreNC for an excellent discussion w my @GreenlandRepDC colleague. We discussed the importance of standing together, also in the Arctic. Great insights on how to further expand our huge economic footprint in North Carolina. We create 1000s of jobs, more to come!
