@yashar Genuinely curious what you think the answer is. Are you arguing for a ground invasion? Or do you think the regime is going to give up?

Gosh, you must really hate Iranians, Mark Levin, that you want to open them up to more repression, the potential for civil war, and you seem willing to want to take the risk of more instability in the region in general, which will eventually draw in the United States. And to prove you really hate them — you use the argument of Afghanistan, Angola, and Nicaragua as good examples of U.S. arming opposition factions. Do you want to finish your thought, Mark, and tell the audience how it turned out for Afghanistan, Angola, and Nicaragua? Afghanistan ended up in a civil war after the Soviets withdrew, and what came after that? The Taliban, which offered safe haven to Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, among many other issues. Angolans had to live through a decades-long proxy war that devastated the country. Nicaraguans lived through a prolonged conflict that caused great suffering and instability. Are Iranians not even worthy of a good pitch from you — one that is well thought out and wouldn’t subject them to another layer of hell after all they’ve been through? Also, you have repeatedly promoted Reza Pahlavi — he keeps claiming that he has many thousands of defectors from the military, including “senior” members of the IRGC. All of these men have access to weapons —what happened to them? How the hell do you sleep at night?

@mashabani @MonicaLMarks And yet with each missile Iran sends towards Israeli civilians, including cluster munitions (two war crimes in one) the world is silent. That’d be far more remarkable if, ya know, Jews.

Trump's threats to carry out war crimes against Iran are now routine, but the way in which no country really opposes them is still remarkable.

The claim that Hamas admits it lost 50,000 fighters because it's compensating 50,000 widows is FALSE. The number refers to "families among the most affected." Thus far 19,300 widows have been compensated. The best estimate for combatants killed in Gaza remains 25,000+

@Eve_Barlow @simon_schama Because having to release mass murderers to bring hostages home has proven to result in more mass murder (to wit: Sinwar). If they’re dead there’s no way they can do it again.

@JeremyUnplugged @MorEdge_Insight This is done purely so they don’t have to free murderers in exchange for hostages. Ya know, like they did when they released Sinwar only to have him come back and kill 1,200 more Israeli civilians.

The Knesset has passed a law allowing the death penalty for terrorists. Supporters say it’s a necessary deterrent for terrorists and a matter of justice. Other Israelis warn of serious human rights concerns and feel the move is very barbaric. Where do you all stand on this? 🧐

The Israeli parliament just voted 68-42 to pass a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinian terrorists from the West Bank who kill Israelis. The default method is hanging. The logic is deterrence, make terrorists think twice before taking hostages, knowing a prisoner swap won’t save them. There are more targeted ways to achieve that. A law capping the number of prisoners releasable in any deal, for instance, would address the same incentive structure without reaching for the gallows. What this law actually does is single out Palestinian terrorists from the West Bank who murder civilians, Arabs and Jews alike, in the name of destroying the state of Israel. The Palestinian Authority actively rewards those killers. That context matters. It explains why this bill exists and why many Israelis support it. But understanding the logic doesn’t mean accepting the method. The death penalty, administered by hanging, is a relic. Cruel in application, irreversible in action. We can find ways to protect innocents lives and dismantle the incentive to take hostages. We don’t have to do it like this.

Israel’s Knesset passed the death penalty bill today. It makes only anti-Israel terrorism punishable by death—not anti-Palestinian terrorism, which Israeli settlers in the WB are now committing regularly. It applies to territories controlled by Israel inc the WB & most of Gaza.

Israeli Knesset members are currently voting to pass a death penalty bill that would apply only to Palestinians. In what would have been unthinkable just a couple of years ago, it is poised to pass.

I am disappointed with the decision by the Israeli police to prevent the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Christian Communities of the Holy Land from marking Palm Sunday at the Holy Sepulchre.    These actions further violate the longstanding status quo of Jerusalem’s Holy Sites. People of every faith in Jerusalem should be able to worship freely, fully, and without fear. I am pleased that President Herzog has contacted the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to reaffirm this.

@rabois @DarnelSugarfoo This is what they don’t get. Winning this war will significantly lower the threat of war from the region for a long time. Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Houthis and now Iran - all neutered and unable to threaten. Worth it.

Today, the FBI and NYPD disrupted a plot by a member of a pro-Israel terrorist organization to assassinate Nerdeen Kiswani. This is a reprehensible act of political violence. There is no place for it in our city nor our country. I am thankful Ms. Kiswani is safe and the assailant is under arrest.

@beinlibertarian @CollinRugg That’s such bs. An IDF tank shell ricocheted off a target and hit the church steeple in Gaza. They didn’t bomb it. The Church in Jerusalem is closed because all religious locations are closed BECAUSE IRAN IS SHOOTING MISSILES AT THEM.

JUST IN: Israel says they are coming up with a “plan” to allow church leaders to worship at the holy site “in the coming days” after Cardinal Pizzaballa was blocked from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday. Netanyahu’s office has released the following statement: “Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. As a result, Israel has temporarily asked worshippers from all faiths not to worship at the holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City to protect them. Today, out of special concern for his safety, Jerusalem police prevented the Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pizzaballa from holding mass this morning at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Again, there was no malicious intent whatsoever, only concern for his safety and that of his party. However, given the holiness of the week leading up to Easter for the world's Christians, Israel's security arms are putting together a plan to enable church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days.” Video: tzogho / tt.

We should all confess just as JP has in this video. I am so antisemitic to think that the Israeli government and military killing innocent children in Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon is wrong. How unAmerican of me to criticize a foreign gov that we fund by the billions every year.

Agree….but you want the US to make it happen, so in that case everyone saying this should always add to their post: “and that’s why the United States should invade Iran and send at least 250,000 troops to occupy Iranian territory.” Be honest about your U.S.-engineered regime change goals. This doesn’t happen with some air strikes.
Dani@AngryLevantine

The only victory is regime change Anything less than that is not victory It is merely kicking the can down the road until the IRGC are strong enough to pose a threat again
