@ma1ybe The 70s were 50 years ago now. 2 generations have been born and are old enough to enter the workforce. Yet here we are. Any job that is life threatening is primarily male. Part of the reason for that is because the "patriarchy" holds women in such high regard.

Testing the waters with this question. This has got me really conflicted. My son is 16, today he finishes Driver's Ed. He'll be taking his driver's test Fri. He's a great driver, I'm actually impressed at how well he's doing so I have no doubts he'll pass. Here's the question. Do I put one of those tracking apps on his phone or do I do like when I got my license or when my oldest daughter got hers. My opposition to the surveillance state, my opposition to modernity and trying to embrace the way I grew up makes it hard to justify. I'm at odds with myself over this. Thoughts?

My boyfriend works at a shop where 90% of the staff are women. And you just KNOW some customers march in demanding to "speak to a man." So, the female worker calls my boyfriend from the storage. These women have to wait, like, ten minutes because he's usually busy. He finally comes out and the conversation pretty much always goes down like this: "What can I help you with?" "Oh, I need this specific plumbing part for this super specific project." Boyfriend: "No clue, ask her."

@suchnerve How about instead of inciting division between the left and right you try talking to someone from the other side and find the things you agree on. You might find that the right also wants people to live better lives by keeping more of their income and keeping freedoms.

@hell_line0 Men have been sued for coming to the aid of women in recent history. It has made a lot of us very leery about helping anyone for fear that they ruin our lives. Not a chance. If you wanted a world where people help each other you should have pushed back on the lawsuits
