@GunnerGroove @EBL2017 Arsenal were in the game for just the first 20 minutes. The moment Havertz missed the scoring opportunity in the first 10 minutes, it woke up Man City. The game became even and City took it away after 20 minutes. Arsenal and Arteta became clueless.
English

It was a Pep Guardiola masterclass, ladies and gentleman. The entirety of it.
No doubts about it.
Arteta & his staff should have adapted at half-time.
But, the solutions are clear for the Premier League decider.
I dissect it all at EBL2017.com/p/a-pep-guardi… & X Subscriptions 🚨
English

@TheAthleticFC Just a bit of fun, but if an Arsenal player did it at 2-0 up we’d be called arrogant, not humble etc..
English

What do Gary Neville, Pep Guardiola and Ben White have in common?
They were all unimpressed by Rayan Cherki’s showboating in Manchester City’s Carabao Cup win over Arsenal.
You can understand why Arsenal wouldn't have taken kindly to Cherki's keepie-uppies — particularly White, who duly left one on the Frenchman in the moments that followed.
But for the neutrals, it was just a bit of fun... right?

@Carlos16rfc @football_pb @SamJDean What season did Pep win it in? We’re 6 years and a billion deep with no trophy. Fuck kepas feelings. It’s Arsenal fc not Kepa fc. Absolute Wally.
English

@GunnerGroove @football_pb @SamJDean Someone lives on x don’t they. Pep won his first league cup with his back up keeper so that was before the trophies piled in. It’s the fucking league cup
English

@football_pb @SamJDean Pep can play his backup keeper they win trophies all the time. We haven’t won in 6 years, no time for sentiment. Play the best we have and hope for the best. We owe Kepa nothing, Arteta owes the fans, the club, the staff and shareholders a trophy, not kepas feelings.
English

We didn't play well. The players were awful. Arteta made it worse. But I can't see how anyone thinks we will bottle the league at this stage.
I first started supporting Arsenal in 1998, I have seen a lot of bottle jobs in that time, I simply can't see how we will bottle the league at this stage.
English

@jamesbenge It’s unfair on the fans, staff, owners to start him
English

@LgAFC49 @ConMarbleHalls We are in this position because city keep dropping points. They will 100% believe they can win it now.
English

@GunnerGroove @ConMarbleHalls Doesn’t matter what City believes. The team needs to do what they are supposed to do and we have the title.
English

@SemperFiArsenal Just to put it in perspective. We have to play City at their ground, we won’t win. City have a game in hand. So our advantage is likely 3 points. We won’t win every game from now on, we are playing horrendous
English

Just to put things into perspective
- This is our first loss in cup games all season.
- This is our fourth loss all season. We are in March.
- We are still 9 points ahead of City with just 7 games to go.
Don’t let one bad performance and result change the fact we are very very close to achieve something special this season.
Use this loss as a fuel to win the rest of the games.
English

@APresserV2 ???
Kepa dropped one in his own net.
We hit the post, crossbar and forced a triple save.
English

@SaulStaniforth @KNEECAPCEOL This is the only reason these guys remain famous, because their music is tosh
English

"Why are you in Havana?"
@KNEECAPCEOL: ".. to raise awareness about the collective punishment that's being dealt to the Cuban people by the Trump administration.. Irish and Cuban solidarity is something that goes back along time.."
English

@EBL2017 Terrible take. Truly elite players show up even when things don’t go their way. Wirtz is a good player, but just like Ozil, if the game isn’t suited to him he’s crap.
English

Wirtz is a completely incredible footballer who flourishes any time Liverpool get balance around him.
#10 with freedom to float.
That’s what he is and needs to thrive.
It’s about implementing a cohesive system around that.
Spent half of this game as a #10 and been special. Spent the other half as a split #9 and been non-existent. That is no coincidence.
English

@DeadlineDayLive Cole, Hargreaves’s, Carrick and Robinson crap
English

@Carra23 @Shamsdale Jamie, you’re a pussycat around the greats in football. Stick to spitting at kids, your sort of challenge.
English

@Shamsdale Is that the same Henry who said he doesn’t like Arteta’s football 😬😂
English

“It’s not me” says the guy who danced with the Brentford home crowd and spitefully put the spotlight on Arsenal’s photographer the last time they beat Liverpool. Say what you want big dawg, we know you’ll be a good little boy next time Henry’s in the room with you. 👍🏽
Jamie Carragher@Carra23
No it’s not me, it’s partly because of your fan base online, something I didn’t mention in the piece! The column is actually quite positive about Arsenal/Arteta 🤷♂️😅 Sunday is the time to get the cameras out if you win, not after a PL win in January 🙃😂
English

@TeleFootball @Carra23 Everyone wants City to win. City don’t have the historic rivalries so fans don’t care if they win. Also city don’t have that many fans compared to the other big clubs
English

For many fans, 'anyone but Manchester City' has become 'anyone but Arsenal' this season.
As the two clubs prepare to meet in this weekend's Carabao Cup final, @Carra23 explains why Mikel Arteta's side have their detractors 👇

English

@EBL2017 Selective reasoning. You’re rooting for a man with his own belief system as your justification. We all have resonance within us and all have our own belief systems, doesn’t mean we all deserve a managerial job.
English

@premierleague @ManUtd Not sure why you’re comparing forwards to a midfielder???
English

@EBL2017 Interesting tonight, Trossard was staying central a lot and hincapie maintained the width. Eze coming over to the left half space again.
English

Criticised Arteta after the first leg.
He identified the problem area.
Solved it against Everton.
Maintained it against Leverkusen.
And these are the margins required to win at the business end of the season.
He’s not flawless, but nobody is. We all make mistakes. Daily.
EBL@EBL2017
Arsenal with the optimal combination of positional fluidity and rigidity. And dominant as a result of it. The opposite of the first leg when it comes to capitalising on the control in the game and using that to create chances. This is why I love Mikel. Always rectifies errors.
