Under President Trump’s leadership, common sense, scientific integrity, and accountability have been restored to federal food and health policy. For decades, the Dietary Guidelines favored corporate interests over common-sense, science-driven advice to improve the health of Americans. That ends today. The new Dietary Guidelines call for prioritizing high-quality protein, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—and avoiding highly processed foods and refined carbohydrates.

This week, @SecKennedy joined medical students and residents in a cooking demonstration led by the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative. Real food can be affordable — and delicious! Encouraging real food diets is a critical part of addressing America’s chronic disease crisis.

#DYK: Death rates among women stemming from heart disease are higher than those of men. A huge part of MAHA involves helping American women live healthier lives. Meeting that challenge in the days ahead will require a renewed focus on establishing a true gold standard for women’s health research. NIH is up to that challenge. 👩🔬

Federal-state partnerships are crucial to helping rid our health care system of fraud. This week, Florida submitted, and CMS approved, their request to pause enrollment of new Durable Medical Equipment suppliers in the state's Medicaid program, which has exploded with fraud over recent years. Thanks to @VP Vance’s leadership of the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and @GovRonDeSantis's initiative, we are putting real teeth behind enforcement efforts in Florida to protect seniors and our most vulnerable from fraud.

Yesterday was a momentous occasion for @FDAfood as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our new Atlanta Human and Animal Food Laboratory. This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant investment in our future and our ability to protect the American food supply. The Atlanta lab is our largest food testing facility, with dedicated professionals who analyze hundreds of samples daily to detect harmful microbial and chemical contamination in domestic and imported foods—from fresh produce to infant formula. This modernized space will enhance our capabilities and support our commitment to the #MAHA agenda.

Removing highly processed food from SNAP is an important step in solving America's chronic disease crisis. Families in Texas will now have more access to affordable, real food.
