Bouncing back is effortless if you were fit before pregnancy and kept those habits throughout the 9 months. The fear mongering around "losing your body" is mostly from women who weren't very active and in shape beforehand and/or overate while pregnant.
If you're a young and active girl, you'll stay beautiful, almost effortlessly. You could even look *better* after childbirth. Your hips widen a bit and breastfeeding burns through fat fast.

I am 45 and when I look back on my experiences as a young woman I rarely had boomer women, even close mentors, recommend children or family formation. The propaganda was that having a baby too young would ruin young women and prevent them from having a “meaningful career”. There was never any discussion of how meaningful and important a role motherhood is.

Hubby and I visited Sanibel Island in Florida this weekend and what I DIDN’T see was more impressive than what I DID see.
I didn’t see homeless people camped on the beach or boardwalk. I didn’t see needles and drug paraphernalia laying around. I didn’t see human feces on the sidewalks. I didn’t see criminals looting stores or attacking people. I didn’t see any of the things that have become the norm in California.
