It is Saturday, May 16, 2026. It has been 1,568 days since John O'Keefe was taken from his family and friends. For 1,122 of those days, his loved ones have had to deal with his autopsy photos being splashed all over the internet because @BostonDefender failed to file those photos with the proper impoundment. The defense, Karen Read, and the unscrupulous blogger they shared the photos with have repeatedly said "the body" tells the "story" and therefore John O'Keefe's dignity is inconsequential. In fact, when his procedural failure was pointed out to him in open court, instead of apologizing to the O'Keefe family, @BostonDefender arrogantly responded "The cat's out of the bag." For the record, the "story" the defense came up with regarding the injuries to John's arm was crafted by none other than JANET READ after the injuries were explained to her over the phone. JANET READ HAD NEVER SEEN THE PHOTOS WHEN SHE CAME UP WITH HER WILD TALE, therefore, clearly, NO ONE "needed" to see them. Shame on Karen Read, her family, her attorneys, her pet blogger, and her disgusting fans who continue to share these photos.

Luke talked about truth coming to light, and ironically that’s exactly why so many citizens keep questioning the conduct surrounding this case. If the “truth” is solid, it shouldn’t need outrage theater, selective morality, or social media sermonizing delivered with the intensity of a late-night televangelist selling miracle spring water. And spare everyone the sanctimony about dignity while simultaneously turning tragedy into a daily content machine. The public didn’t create this firestorm. The investigators, officials, media personalities, and endless leaks did. People are watching because confidence in the process got body-slammed(@BostonDefender Ty and the team for that!)through the announcer’s table a long time ago. At this point the FKR crowd is the babyface section of the arena, and every new talking point feels more scripted than a steel cage promo. Trial one, trial two, civil rounds still loading… and yet the crowd keeps chanting the same thing because the case still hasn’t delivered the clean knockout some promised years ago. Grab the novelty red noses, pack up the clown car, and maybe leave the fake moral superiority at the concession stand on the way out. The public can think for themselves. TB & KR still standing.

A high PT score shows discipline and fitness. Nobody’s arguing that. But it doesn’t automatically mean someone is a better leader. At E5 going to E6, the job starts becoming less about being the fastest dude in the platoon and more about developing Soldiers, making good decisions under pressure, managing chaos, and keeping people mission ready without burning them out. The Army loves PT because it’s easy to measure. Leadership isn’t. We’ve all seen dudes who crush a PT test but can’t counsel, can’t plan, lose gear, and create extra work for everyone around them. At some point, once standards are met, leadership ability should matter more than who can deadlift the most on a Tuesday morning. PT matters. But combat fitness and leadership fitness aren’t the same thing.

it's a good thing. this is similar to the issue with the DA photo. and while it shouldn't be the primary promotion consideration, and probably completely ignored at senior ranks (the ones that are achieved after 15 years of service), a PT score is a useful metric and always will be. i'd even say it should be a cut line for O4/E7 and below. for example, there isn't much separation of competency on an NCOER for an E5 up for E6. One of those metrics is PT score because PT is central to their job - as a leadership metric, at that rank. i'd love to hear arguments to refute that. i'd also love to see PT be a higher priority metric for command billet selection. it's hard to convey the drag on unit morale when your new battalion commander shows up, fat and out of shape, fresh off a series staff positions that can't lead a battalion run. PT is an indicator metric. it's not the primary metric and never should be, but as an indicator for other desirable traits there's no equal.
