A "vibecession" basically means that even though the economy is fine, people are miserable, and it should terrify economic planners and politicians more than it does because it indicates a rot that can't be fixed by "line go up." Instead, they mostly just scoff about it.

🇸🇩 At least 21 civilians were killed and dozens more wounded in two consecutive days of RSF drone strikes on markets in North Darfur, according to local activists and emergency responders cited by Sudan Tribune.
➤ In Al-Tina, a strategic border town near Chad, an RSF drone struck a busy market and restaurant area on Sunday, killing 14 civilians and wounding more than 50.
➤ In nearby Karnoi, another drone hit the market on Monday, killing at least 5 to 7 people and severely wounding others.
➤ Al-Tina, Karnoi, and Ombaro are among the last remaining SAF and allied joint forces strongholds in North Darfur.
➤ Al-Tina is also a key commercial and humanitarian corridor between eastern Chad and Darfur. The strikes have triggered panic and forced more civilians to flee across the border, Darfur 24 reported.

I am an adult so I can say that the Trump Admin weaponizing the justice system against dissenters on its Cuba policy is wrong. I can also say people who encouraged people not to vote for Kamala were fascist enablers and it's ironic they are expecting the Dems they attack regularly to defend them. And I can also understand people uncommitted on this topic because they don't want to support the lesser of two evils.

Leah, I agree with your general point about building a broad popular front against authoritarianism. The issue here is that when it actually came time to build the broad front against fascism to prevent it (aka the 2024 election) the online left faction (led by Hasan Piker) were absent to cheering it on. You are just pretending like it's merely about differing ideology, which is just not true. I get along fine with plenty of people to my left IRL. The difference is, all of them didn't even have to think twice about supporting Kamala because they realized that a whole lot of vulnerable people would suffer if Trump was elected. This was very, very much not the case with these people. So forgive me if I'm not going to cry crocodile tears when a guy who helped make this happen merely gets a supboena (assuming it actually happens).
