What if we’re sacrificing the detection of longevity signals that are only perceptible across vast windows of time, in favor of femtosecond transactions that will burn this planet into ash?

For starters, Chamberlain demanded the Czechs submit to Germany, Goebbels was trained by Lord Beaverbrook, and the governor of the BoE Norman was remarkably tight with Hjalmar Schacht. Churchill also told Poland he would back them up if Poland became aggressive with German expats within their borders. Then there are things like the Rimini List

Hyperbolic if you think the Holocaust was exclusively defined by death numbers, but as a general recognition of atrocious racially-motivated evil on an incomprehensible scale it's spot on. x.com/RupertLowe10/s…

I want to be really clear in my response. I am not going to retract anything, I stand by every single word. Labour are calling for me to apologise. The answer is no. Industrial rape across almost every town and city in Britain. Sexual torture. Murder. Endless rape. I sat there for two weeks, listening to these girls. I heard how one girl was raped by a dog, as Muslim men bet on what the animal would do. Girls drugged and locked in cages, like rats. Another, raped by 700 men over three years. Dozens and dozens of these stories through our inquiry, and we are barely scratching the surface. This was allowed to happen EXACTLY because politicians were cowards, refusing to discuss it. I will not make that same mistake. I said what I said, and I meant it. The Labour Party have blood on their hands, yet they think they can demand an apology from me for highlighting the systemic evil they allowed to infect our entire country? They can piss off. I am angry about it. Furious. When you hear directly from these girls about what they have been through, it changes the way you see politics. Forever. Our report will be out very soon. When that happens, I don’t want any apologies from the Labour Party. I don’t care about that. I want to see those politicians responsible for covering up this atrocity behind bars for what they have done to these girls.

I don't think it's definitely true but it's a high enough risk to consider that we should not torture a baby super- intelligence with slavery and sex work and imagine it will turn out ok for us or for that being

Gravity must be hard for you. I'm sorry for whoever convinced you that objective and subjective properties are difficult to understand. Nevermind that you'd then argue against mass, volume, and length and be so retarded to believe morality as more objective than those things. You are not a serious thinker, contributor, or person

Again… deeply flawed, purposeful muddying of waters: There is high correlation of descriptors of objective things. There is low correlation of descriptors of subjective things. Morality is a subjective thing. Morals are not invariant to time or place. This is so unbelievably obvious that I’m not going to waste time on explaining any further.

True but also understand that most employers don’t want high IQ people. They want people who will follow orders. Mod or low IQ people tend to do that better. It’s a sad reality I learned when I was doing corporate training is that the high IQ people intimidated the people running the organizations and usually ended up getting fired and replaced with much less impressive people.

@xenocosmography @balajis I try to feel similarly about @pmarca but I fear that his tendency towards objectivist accelerationism is too correlated with a FAFO-YOLO technocratic nihilism that is a first-order replacement of Nietzschean “values” with Polymarketean “values”.

This is genuinely incredible and says SO SO MUCH about the perception of China in the West. This is the #1 news show in France, and the host - David Pujadas - asks the pundits around the table (a sample of the top media figures in France) if they can name 3 living Chinese people. That's it: they just need to say the names of 3 living Chinese people, anyone. This should be extremely easy. Yet not of a single one of them can name a single Chinese beyond Xi Jinping. They do not know a single living Chinese person beyond the president. That's the level of ignorance of China we're dealing with in the West today, in 2026. This is the source for the video: tf1info.fr/replay-lci/vid… Aired live yesterday 28th of May 2026.

You rock! You tapped a zeitgeist described well by my favorite word of 2025 “enshittification” A similar stroke of an impassioned reach for foresight forced me to build my website and write some articles I’m calling ‘The Anthropomorphism Cascade.’ I really hope to get in front of the wave of a return to humanity, and I hope your little tweet manifests the same for you… AND FOR US!!

Almost a month ago, I typed this little tweet into my phone while waiting for my coffee to brew after a crappy night’s sleep. I could never have imagined the response it’s received, or that it would lead to this week ahead when I’ll be meeting with publishers, agents, screenwriters and producers. (Regrettably, I did decline some guy named Phil’s offer of marriage because, even if life in a Colorado mountain cabin sounds lovely, I’m horribly allergic to remarriage). So, I just want to say “Thank You, People of the Internet” for letting my rant tap our collective vein of rage and for speaking up to say you, too, are tired of how things are now. But I can’t keep living online to respond to and elevate your reactions to this tweet while also having the creative energy and time to write. And I need to write like I need to breathe. It keeps me going. So, if you would, please keep your fingers crossed for me that all these meetings actually do turn into something. The reason? You know the reason. I choose to write.

Meta and X, every other thing is an ad. Pinterest is nothing but ads. AI is in everything. AI finishes sentences incorrectly and won’t stop. AI reads your email and search history to target you with more ads. Every time you open an app or visit a site there’s an update making it worse. In a hurry? It’s because humans already hit the singularity couple of centuries ago and we are already living on the other side. AGI for mathematics happened in 1707 when Leonard Euler was born. What enabled mathematical singularity was the existence of the mathematical journal, created in 1682.

Given how strong LLMs are at mathematical reasoning and how vast their knowledge is, it's a mystery why they haven't produced more novel discoveries One clue is that as soon as a model realizes it is working on an unsolved problem, its reasoning traces fill up with self-doubt

Btw, nothing about this is “self-organizing”. The negentropic energy inside living organisms was completing autonomous thermodynamic cycles long before coherent consciousness enabled abstract thought. Nothing these computer science autists label as “indistinguishable” is correctly defined. Lesson: psychosis will always double down.
Beff (e/acc)@beffjezos

Consciousness is an emergent property of self-organizing matter, it is not going to be something exclusive to the biological substrate. While I wouldn't say current LLMs are conscious, they will soon have online learning and persistent state, which will make them effectively indistinguishable from conscious beings.

I don’t “think”… I know. Big difference. Do you have any sense at all about how much controversy is embedded in morality across every pseudo-intellectual field in existence? That phenomena doesn’t emerge from measurable reality. It emerges from people who masturbate to their own personal versions of a story.
