To England fans who constantly state “but the Falklands!” Every time we post support for Argentina: This is a very important story to us. In 1865, our people fled English oppression to preserve their language, religion and culture. In Chubut they created a new home, and that connection remains strong today in the language, place names, and traditions that are honoured in the Wladfa. You can still find authentic Welsh foods and desserts, Eisteddfodau, and overall a great group of people who are both proud of their heritage and proud Argentinians. This connection isn’t new. It deepened after the Falklands War after we discovered Welsh-speaking Argentine POW’s. But the decades since, our football clubs like Wrexham AFC have hosted special nights for Argentina because of that bond. We aren’t cheering for them because we’re jumping on an anti-England bandwagon. Here are two of the flags representing Y Wladfa, reminiscent of the land they still loved and called home.

❗️Former Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has resigned from Parliament to join Chinese car giant BYD as the executive responsible for the company's external relations and the development of new business divisions.

This is shocking. At an EU Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, Lynn Boylan lamented that it was “a pity we can’t use our own language.” When it was pointed out that she could, in fact, speak Irish, she backtracked almost instantly: "I wasn’t prepared, so I’ll use English."

“Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to remove defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the 35-year-old architect of Ukraine’s wartime defence technology drive, after just six months in the post as part of a major cabinet reshuffle. Several senior figures close to Zelenskyy said the president had held conversations about replacing the minister as he prepares to unveil his new government on Thursday… But defence industry officials, senior Ukrainian officials, MPs from Zelenskyy’s party and others familiar with the matter have said — some publicly — that Fedorov had been a barrier to interests seeking to profit from Ukraine’s vast wartime defence budget… Fedorov repeatedly blocked attempts to steer lucrative procurement contracts to favoured companies, which put him at odds with powerful figures inside Ukraine’s political and defence establishment, said people familiar with the situation.” @ChristopherJM ft.com/content/c2b9d7…

.@pravda_eng reports that a "systemic conflict" between Minister Fedorov and factions who influence the defense budget is one of the reasons for the government reshuffle. They report that the main reason is his resistance to corruption, even though the criticism leveled is about mobilization. They also report that President Zelensky asked Klymenko to be ready to become Minister of Defense. pravda.com.ua/articles/2026/…
