Something that breaks my heart as a Millennial is how fucking optimistic and fun our teenage years and 20s were. Like we envisioned a TOTALLY different world from the one that we've got and insanely divorced from what Gen-Z are experiencing. Its hard to put in words how fantastic we thought life was gonna be and how it seemed like we were making tangible social progress. We've had all of that ripped away from us.

Did you know that James Éarl Ray, the alleged assassin of MLK Jr., never had a trial? He quickly pled guilty, and all the exculpatory evidence never saw the light of day (until the 1999 civil trial that basically posthumously exonerated him). That's why government, media & history books will tell you Ray was the assassin. In reality, he was just a small cog and the patsy for a sophisticated operation that involved elements from the FBI, US military intelligence, Special Forces, the NSA, the ADL/B'nai B'rith, israeli intelligence, the jewish mob, the Dixie mafia, and Memphis PD. Listen to Dr. William Pepper explain how they manipulated Ray into pleading guilty to take the fall for it all. Listen to how when Ray made a last ditch effort to get a trial, the judge mysteriously had a heart attack and was found dead with his head resting on Ray's petition. Listen to the final surprise twist. Anyway, in unrelated news, how do you think Tyler Robinson's trial will go?

The U.S. just seized a Venezuelan oil tanker headed to Cuba, an act of 21st-century piracy. No, this isn’t about drugs. It’s about regime change and provoking a war in Latin America. Americans don’t want this. 70% oppose intervention in Venezuela. Cuba needs oil, not blockades. Venezuela needs peace, not warships. Hands off Venezuela. Hands off Cuba.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
This week we are voting on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that funds our military and it’s, once again, filled with American’s hard earned tax dollars used to fund foreign aid and foreign country’s wars. These American People are $38 Trillion in debt, suffering from an affordability crisis, on the verge of a healthcare crisis, and credit card debt is at an all time high. Funding foreign aid and foreign wars is America Last and is beyond excuse anymore. I would love to fund our military but refuse to support foreign aid and foreign militaries and foreign wars. I am here and will be voting NO.

🚨NASA CONFIRMS ALIEN ROCK SCREAMING THROUGH SOLAR SYSTEM AT 152,000 MPH Confirmed by NASA and the Minor Planet Center, 3I/ATLAS is real and it’s not from here. This interstellar object is moving at 152,000 miles per hour and could reach 90 km/s by April. It’s the third visitor from another star system ever recorded. Estimated up to 12 miles wide, it’ll swing by the sun in October and graze Mars. First spotted June 25, it’s now officially tagged interstellar. No impact expected, just a rare front-row seat to galactic speed. Source: EarthSky Image: @PolymarketIntel, Gizmodo

@dccommonsense Therein lies the solution. Being a second class power means you get pushed around and if you resist you die. Our country has the power to change that because we’re the one pushing people around and killing (and sanctioning) when they won’t bend to extortion.

The real dilemma is here is how to disincentivize nations from wanting them (saying "we'll bomb you back to the Stone Age to prevent it" only convinces them they need a nuke even more!).As long as not having one dooms you to Second Class power status this is going to be an issue.

The weird dichotomy over nuclear non-proliferation is that it's a club. The emphasis is on "no new members". But because non-nuclear nations are often attacked/bullied by nuclear-armed nations, the incentives all line up for states to acquire nukes.Iran wanting one makes sense.

After years of conservative grievances about Biden's DHS monitoring social media to eliminate and punish dissent, Trump's DHS now doing the same to see who should be deported or denied visas. But don't worry: virulent anti-Black racism, arguing Muslims should be killed, LGBTs put into camps are fine. You just can't express anti-Semitism (ie criticisms of Israel), which is often equated with being "pro-Hamas."

Longtime House Intel member @RepMikeQuigley: “What just happened in the Oval Office was one of the most embarrassing moments in American history. We are a fundamentally different country than we were a few weeks ago and unrecognizable to our democratic allies. For over a century, the United States has stood for Democracy. Today, Donald Trump chose the side of dictators. The world order that was established after the Second World War is dead.”

@RealScottRitter @TrevorFoll95693 @afshinrattansi Isn’t it true to say that a country being robbed like that has no choice but to respond militarily or else cease to be a state? If so, wouldn’t it be true that their fate was sealed the instant they were stolen from?

How am I supposed to respond to this? I was pulled out of my Captain’s level professional school (Amphibious Warfare School) in September 1990 and attached to an ad hoc planning cell created on the orders of General Al Gray, the Marine Corps Commandant, to develop amphibious warfare options to the frontal assault being planned for Marine forces by General Schwarzkopf. The head of this cell was Major General Paul Caulfield, the Director of the Marine War Fighting Center. General Caulfield interviewed me before bringing me on. He asked about the roots of the conflict. I told him we were fighting the wrong Arabs. That Kuwait was working to keep the price of oil below $14 a barrel to bankrupt Iraq and cause Iraq to default to the London Group of Banks. That Kuwait was slant drilling into Iraqi oil fields, stealing billions of dollars of oil, and dumping it on the market, crashing prices. That Kuwait was the enemy, the bad guy. General Caulfield asked me if, because I believed this, I would be able to effectively wage war on Iraq. I told him I would faithfully execute the lawful orders given to me by my chain of command, to the best of my ability. I know more about the cause of the Gulf War than most. But it doesn’t change the fact that Iraq invaded Kuwait in violation of international law. That the Security Council authorized the use of military force to evict Iraq from Kuwait. That the US Congress authorized the use of US military forces to implement Security Council resolutions authorizing the use of force against Iraq. Kuwaiti slant drilling doesn’t change this reality. The war I helped plan and fight was lawful under international law, and under the Constitution of the United States. So tell me again how I am wrong on this?

On this day in 1991: ‘The Highway of Death’ Iraqi🇮🇶 troops and vehicles were withdrawing from Kuwait in compliance with UN resolution 660 along Highway 80. George H. W. Bush ordered the bombardment of the retreating column, which included civilians, of 3000 trucks, jeeps, cars, ambulances, and tanks. For 10 hours, US warplanes bombed the highway mercilessly as Iraqis were burned and blown to pieces by US bombs. By the end of the massacre, some estimates put the final casualty count as high as 10,000. White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater had promised that the US and its coalition partners would not attack Iraqi forces leaving Kuwait, which turned out to be a blatant lie, revealed in this heinous war crime. “Even in Vietnam I didn’t see anything like this. It’s pathetic,” said Major Bob Nugent, an Army intelligence officer.

The new talking point is that we are in a “constitutional crisis.” Take a moment to think about this. If you’ve ever read the Constitution, you know damn well that probably 90% of what the federal government does, is not authorized in the Constitution. Just over the last 20 years we have seen decades long undeclared wars, torture, targeted assassinations of US citizens without charges or trial, lockdowns. None of these clowns ever thought any of that was a constitutional crisis. We don’t have a constitutional crisis. The US Constitution was shredded long ago.
