I saw and talked to Waiswa this morning. Every characteristic of a broken man was so visible in Waiswa! He sat there in the OCs office numb and frozen but well, he had to gather some strength as the family head and guide us on how to move forward! Well done @DavidLRubongoya 🙏🏾

How many more Ediths must we lose before the system admits that incarcerating citizens on bailable offenses—esp. for political activity—is a scourge that undermines the rule of law, public trust & human dignity? My condolences to @AMufumbiro @HEBobiwine @DavidLRubongoya @NUP_Ug

I’m saddened by the passing of Edith Katende Mufumbiro, after her brave fight with cancer. In her, I mourn a wife, a mother, and a quiet force of strength that carried unimaginable burdens alone while her spouse, comrade Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, remains prison. Edith embodied that silent courage, fought for her life while the state kept her loved one away. I hope that no family suffers this kind of cruelty again in the near future. I extend my deepest sympathies to comrade Waiswa and their family. May her soul rest in peace.

I wonder how the magistrate who refused to grant bail on a bailable case to Waiswa to go take care of his wife in hospital feels now.

Tomorrow it will be taken to Namirembe Cathedral for prayers at 10am, and later a vigil will be held at their maternal home in Luzira, Mutungo Parish in the evening. Let’s be very clear,we don’t want to see regime apologists suddenly acting human because @AMufumbiro has lost his wife. Don’t come here with your sympathy posts, Don’t pretend to care.We know your silence when it mattered. We know how you justified the injustice defended the cruelty, and looked away when a man was begging for the chance to stand by his dying wife, Now that she is gone, don’t rewrite yourselves into compassionate people. We know what lives in your hearts and a few words today won’t erase it. This pain didn’t start today. It was built, step by step, by a system many of you protect and excuse. But understand this, time is watching and time has a way of exposing everything. the truth, the silence, and the roles we all played,Tomorrow, history will remember who stood for humanity and who stood against it.

This is so painful 😓 “One time as we were trying to secure bail for Hon Waiswa Mufumbiro and the wife was the surity, she said...your honor I can't live without my husband...I have cancer, the medication l take every week is too expensive and I can't afford it wen my husband is in cells... the state Antony then said give us time we look into these medical papers they might be from Nasser road... the next bail hearing "bail was denied" RIP Edith”

Let’s not lose focus—Judge Aguma isn’t the problem; she’s just a low-level public servant. The real issue is the family behind it all.

It has now been 225 days since our comrade, Sam Mugumya, was violently snatched by armed men in plain clothes and bundled into a "drone." For over seven months, Sam has been held in the shadows, away from his family, his friends, and the protection of the law. The regime’s intent is clear; to use the walls of a prison to break his physical body. However, they have failed to realize that in their attempt to crush him, they are only tempering a stronger soul, a soul that remains a constant disturbance to the conscience of his tormentors. Sam once said: "The law's arm, long enough to punish us, is too short to protect us." These words have become our current reality. Despite the filing of a writ of habeas corpus, the brutal hand of the state continues to defy the courts. When the state chooses to ignore judicial orders, it ceases to govern by law and begins to rule by raw force. Sam defines the very peak of courage. His life is a testament to a singular, unwavering mission "The struggle for Freedom." He understands better than most that the path to liberation is paved with sacrifice. Dear Sam, wherever you are being held, we stand with you. Your sacrifice is not in vain, and your voice is not silenced. We remain committed to the principle you live by; "We struggle to be architects of our destiny. Nothing else counts." We continue to demand the immediate production and release of Sam Mugumya. We call upon all freedom-loving citizens join us in demanding accountability. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

@RebeccaKadagaUG @BusogaTourism Thank you for the words of condolences. But beyond that, your voice in calling for justice for @AMufumbiro and other Ugandans who find themselves incarcerated for political reasons would be even more soothing and useful.
