🇩🇪 Meine größte Angst ist, dass ich eines Tages wieder nach Deutschland muss. Das ist es. Das ist der Satz, der mich nachts wachhält. Nicht Märkte. Nicht Portfolio. Nicht Steuerprüfung. Sondern die Vorstellung, dass irgendetwas mich zwingt, durch die Tür zurückzugehen, die ich vor Jahren hinter mir geschlossen habe. Mein Thailand-Steuer-Post ist quer durch CT gegangen, ihr habt ihn überall geteilt. Danke dafür. Aber jetzt kommt der Teil, über den niemand redet. Der Teil, der erst nach dem Auswandern auftaucht und nie wieder verschwindet. Denn wenn du einmal die andere Seite gesehen hast, kannst du nicht mehr unsehen. Du landest in Frankfurt für drei Tage. Familie besuchen. Geschäft regeln. Und nach 48 Stunden weißt du es. Die S-Bahn. Die Gesichter. Das Gemecker an der Supermarktkasse. Die Geschwindigkeit, mit der dir jemand erklärt, warum etwas nicht geht statt wie es geht. Der Steuerberater, der dir 30 Prozent vom Brutto abnimmt und am Ende fragt, ob du noch eine Rechnung über die Kaffeemaschine hast. Du sitzt da, in deiner alten Stadt, in deinem alten Café. Und merkst: hier kann ich nicht mehr leben. Nicht weil es mir an etwas fehlt. Sondern weil du in der Distanz erkannt hast, wie sehr dieses System einen erschöpft, ohne dass man es im Alltag bemerkt. Wie viel Energie es kostet, jeden Monat gegen Bürokratie, gegen Inflation, gegen die Politik anzuarbeiten. Und dann fängt der Knoten im Bauch an. Eine kranke Familie. Ein Visum, das nicht verlängert wird. Eine politische Entscheidung in Thailand. Ein Gesetz in Berlin, das mir den Boden wegzieht. Ein Erbe, das nur vor Ort geregelt werden kann. Eine Beziehung, die mich zurückzieht. Es gibt hundert Szenarien, und jedes einzelne reicht aus, um die Tür wieder zu öffnen, von der ich dachte, sie sei für immer zu. Niemand redet darüber. Wir reden über Steuersätze, über Visa-Hacks, über die besten Städte für Unternehmer. Wir reden über das Ankommen. Aber niemand redet über die Angst vor der Rückkehr. Deshalb frage ich euch direkt. Ihr Selbständigen, ihr Ausgewanderten, ihr, die ihr gerade die Koffer packt: kennt ihr diese Angst? Diese leise Stimme im Hinterkopf, die fragt "was, wenn?". Wie geht ihr damit um? Habt ihr einen Plan B aufgebaut? Eine zweite Staatsbürgerschaft beantragt? Ein drittes Land im Hinterkopf, das einspringt, falls Thailand, Dubai, Paraguay oder Portugal morgen die Regeln ändern? Habt ihr eure Eltern überzeugt, mitzuziehen, damit dieses eine Szenario neutralisiert ist? Oder habt ihr Vermögen so verteilt, dass ihr in jedem Land der Welt aus dem Stand neu starten könntet? Oder verdrängt ihr es, so wie ich es manchmal tue, weil es einfach zu groß ist, um jeden Tag dran zu denken? Ich frage, weil ich ehrlich glaube, dass das die wichtigste Diskussion ist, die wir als Auswanderer-Generation führen müssen. Wir sind eine neue Generation, die das in dieser Größenordnung macht. Remote-Unternehmer, Crypto-Investoren, digitale Selbständige, alle gleichzeitig auf der Suche nach Ländern, die uns nicht zerlegen. Was ich aus den Gesprächen mit anderen Auswanderern mitgenommen habe: die Angst ist universal. Niemand sagt es laut. Aber sobald du einem in die Augen schaust und ehrlich fragst, kommt sie raus. Wir leben alle mit dieser stillen Versicherungspolice im Kopf, die wir nie wirklich abgeschlossen haben. Vielleicht ist das der eigentliche Preis der Freiheit. Nicht die Steuern, die du nicht mehr zahlst. Sondern das ständige Wissen, dass du in jedem Moment alles wieder verlieren kannst, was du dir aufgebaut hast. Ich finde, dass Demut, die angst etwas zu verlieren, ebenfalls wichtig ist als zu wachsen.

Just ten minutes after this photo, I would turn my back to talk to her mom, and she would go on to press my standing desk preset button, sending it all the way up and ripping out my computer cables. After an hour of fixing issues that came from that, discord would go down. Then someone knocked out the internet locally. So, by 11am I closed out one mega $INTC long from pre market into the open spike and called it a day. 💩

A family in Portugal is selling their 40-acre estate. It's inside a protected natural park. Farmhouse restored in the local style. A natural spring, a stream running through the land, two dams, and a well 75m deep. It also has olive trees, fruit trees, and a cork oak forest. In Portugal, cork oaks are protected by law. You can't cut them down. But every 9 years you can harvest the bark, and it grows back. The harvested cork goes into wine stoppers, flooring, insulation, handbags, shoes, even aerospace panels. This estate's trees currently hold about 24 tons of it. The estate covers three parcels. The house sits on the first and can be expanded by over 50%. That's beautiful and sad. Not neccesarily put of regret but because those times are behind us. I remember 30+ years ago getting stuck in stand still traffic for more than two hours with someone special. I told her then I will keep these two hours with me always. It's wonderful to smile at a child's dropped bowl and getting stuck in traffic with the right person. Make the most of touching grass, it should be more than just being afk.

I saw this and a variation of it maybe a year ago. I genuinely remind myself of this once a day. You don’t know until you experience it.

Geld ist nicht das einzige (oder größte) Problem der sinkenden Geburtenrate. Auch sehr wohlhabende haben weniger Kinder. ABER: Geld sollte garkein Problem sein. Deshalb @_FriedrichMerz: Kindergeld weg. Elterngeld weg. Stattdessen 25% weniger Einkommenssteuer PRO Kind bis es 18 ist. Ja, bei 4 Kindern zahlt die Familie keine Steuer, weil sie vermutlich mit einem Einkommen auskommen muss und ein Eigenheim zu finanzieren hat. Damit ist das Problem vom Tisch. Keine Förderungen. Keine Mehrkosten. Keine Umverteilung. Einfach weniger wegnehmen von denjenigen die verzichten und die nächsten Steuerzahler produzieren.

Business-opportunity I think the following will be a good business opportunity for people in crypto that have some savings and want to do something useful with their lives, set up an original business, while being busy creatively, so here you have the idea for free for anyone to set up: a company that buys abandoned farm-houses, fixes them up, and sells them as remote eco-properties to crypto-people that want to have it but are too lazy to build it themselves. not the super expensive bunker types for rich people, but way more accesible price wise here are the steps: 1: buy up remote abandoned farm house in a place that is easy with crypto-regulation or easy with crypto-taxes, many remote cheap properties in el salvador, panama, portugal, malta, paraguay, georgia, argentina, thailand, places like that. Even remote in switserland can be done, Singapore and Dubai obviously impossible. 2: fix up the house, put in own water, solar, battery, eco-materials etc 3: plant a forest garden using the book ¨creating a forest garden by martin crawford¨ ,or create a permaculture garden, or in cold climates use the book ¨a forest garden greenhouse¨. Buy some larger fruit-trees as well so owner does not have to wait 10 years to have produce. Build a vegetable garden as well, put in chickens, ducks, all of it, make it look the whole place is operational already, ready to move in 3: put in starlink, park a tesla model 3 in the garage that can charge with solar pannels and the tesla is transferred with the sale 4: put in water filter, some fuel reserves, wood reserve, a gun and back up small batteries etc, just useful things to have Now people will say, this is a lot of work? Yes, the first one you might have to do yourself, but with many eco-materials being cheap nowadays, and cheap solar and batteries from china, it can be done, just start with a small one very simple, live there yourself first while you build it up, until you find the right buyer, you can use all the knowledge for the next one and use the profit to invest and live in the next one while you build it out and sell for more profit. Rinse and repeat. In time hire a team of builders to do the re-building for you and slowly start re-modeling more properties and scale up. Will it make you money? Yes! You should see the offers i got from crypto-people to buy my eco-farm...really insane, 2x, 3x the value. They do not want to build it themselves, but they do want to have such a place since it is the ultimate security. I am actually posting this idea since someone stuck in Dubai these days offered me an insane amount, really insane, to immediately buy up my eco-farm, no questions asked. I said no of course, but it immediately made me write this post and share this idea I put my idea in grok, and it said: ¨Your model—systematically buying abandoned rural farmhouses (not luxury bunkers), doing accessible-price eco-renovations (solar, independent water, eco-materials), planting productive forest gardens or permaculture systems (explicitly drawing from books like Martin Crawford’s Creating a Forest Garden or cold-climate variants), then selling turn-key remote eco-properties—seems genuinely original in its packaged, repeatable form¨ So good luck to anyone who works this out. It can be done, with not even that much money, start small, maybe do the first one yourself. The person that does it and wants to sell their first eco-farm they build, i will help them and re-post their sale-ad for the place on this account 😉

Women who gave birth at age 40+ were ~4x more likely to live to 100. In this 1997 study, 19.2% of centenarians had kids ≥40, vs. just 5.5% of women who died at 73. This isn’t probably causal - it’s likely that the ability to conceive at 40 signals slower biological aging and better long-term health.
