After 40 years, my friend Chitra is hanging up his boots. He joined the 2nd Gurkha Regiment in the 80s and has seen more than most. He’s been on the gate at the Academy for years, keeping us safe. His smile cheers my days. Crikey, I’m going to miss him. #friendship #gurkhas

Surrey Police are closing the rape case that led to protest in Epsom. They're confident no sexual offence occurred and say a woman in her 20s sustained an accidental head injury and made a confused report.
The woman also gave the police permission to share this information.

Israel’s murder of journalists continues. The details of what happened to Amal Khalil are horrific. The Red Cross tried to rescue her but were themselves fired on.
How is Israel allowed such total impunity? Why is the international press not in uproar?

Civil Defence crews were finally able to access the site where Leb journalist Amal Khalil was trapped under rubble but only hours later. They retrieved her body. Her newspaper Al Akbar has put out a video tribute. Lebanon’s Minister of Information condemned the incident describing the targeting of journalists as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and calling for international action.
