Big deflection off Gravenberch and the ball loops over Mamardashvili, who was slow to react. Nightmare start for Liverpool

FT: Wolves 1 #LFC 3: Liverpool secure their place in the last eight of the FA Cup in style. Margin of victory should have been greater. Robertson opened the scoring with a stunner before creating the second for Salah and Jones killed off the tie. Hwang bagged late consolation.

@JamesPearceLFC The competition was rigged for Morroco. They rigged Nigeria out in the semifinal for them with questionable officiating. At least the whole world could see it now

Senegal understandably raging. A goal harshly chalked off at one end and now a soft penalty given at the other after Diaz’s theatrical fall.

@mineh___ @TheImmortalKop Trying to justify playing a right back on the wing when we have 2 good wingers on the bench all because of a deflected cross

Our general play is absolutely dreadful, and has been all season. Five games unbeaten or not I still don’t see any improvements with our performances

@ptgorst What do you think the problem is, Paul? We lacked urgency moving the ball forward. Also, we always seem to be disorganised and vulnerable whenever we concede a goal. All these were obvious today against Spurs, even when playing against 9 men #LFC

For 83 minutes, anyone searching for proof that Liverpool had finally turned the corner on their season will have gathered plenty of evidence here at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Less so for the remainder of the game though. Verdict from Spurs. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

@Lfc_Cody18 Lol... What dynamism did we miss exactly? Is the the one that can't get past his man or the one that usually cuts inside with blocked shots?

@JamesPearceLFC The total lack of any kind of composure is very concerning. They did this at Elland Road and are in massive danger of doing the exact same again.

@JamesPearceLFC Three points but that was a shocking performance. Slot has introduced walking football. No tempo, press, no intensity. No control of the game at all. When they were down to 10, and got worse when they were down to 9. We got away with this.

@JamesPearceLFC play a 442 with wirtz on wing and isak with ekitike up top or simply bring isak up top and ekitike onto left wing with Szobo back to cam and wirtz on right wing 🙃nothing in the attack so far , don’t know why we don’t use a system similar against Frankfurt with consistent press

HT: Leeds 0 #LFC 0: Liverpool have had 66% possession & got into really promising areas but lack of quality in final third hurting them once again. Zero shots on target. Ekitike has battled hard up top but Gakpo's struggles continue. Jones, who hit the bar, one of the positives.

@JamesPearceLFC We are just too soft James. And what's it with us passing the ball around until we lose it? Why are the players afraid to take on their opponents? Why are they afraid to shot? Did Slot tell them not to do all these. We should be winning this game by now!

@lfcsavvy The closest to Diaz in our team now is Chiesa. Why Slot doesn't see this, and why Gakpo is stating ahead of him is what I don't understand

@CounterPressers This is not on McAllister. It's a bad situation when our wingers (Gakpo and Salah) can't win a 1 vs 1 situation. This is what we enjoyed with Diaz. When Gakpo gets the ball, he either passes back or cut to the other side and plays a shot which often times is blocked or over hit

@Catface_OJK @spaka_1 @TaintlessRed Exactly. I don't know why Slot is getting the blames when the players can't do simple things. Gapko and Salah have been terrible this season, Konate and VVD makes costly mistakes but they all blame Slot. Lol

@spaka_1 @TaintlessRed But that's not the criticism of the tweet I responded to. You can argue that Slot's buildup patterns are bad, that's fine but the OG tweet clearly implies that breaking down a deep block is about Slot's tactics.

"The way to score is simple - you need a moment of magic from a player or a set piece." This is basically saying it's up to the players to do something special or to score a setpiece. Nevermind actually doing coaching, patterns or play, instilling combination football etc. Urgh

@LLFMCC @LewisSteele_ Exactly. We need a top LW player, Gakpo shouldn't be our first choice. I also think Salah is done, we need his replacement. We also need to sign a CB and probably a DM. After all these, if Slot still underperformed then we can sack him. Why people want him gone now is beyond me

@LewisSteele_ It’s a team that lacks balance. The pressing front line has gone which has exposed numerous other problems. Further investment is needed before we change the manager. Can’t expect a squad overhaul and miracles after 1 window. The injuries haven’t helped either

Let's get it straight, that was another stinking performance by Liverpool. A lot of talk about the Mo Salah or no Mo Salah debate but with him or without him, they look like a team without a clue right now.

@Izy_OA Sneaky feeling Slot starts Rio tomorrow (probably wrong as always). Just feel Rio is a special special player that IF given a run of games would create havoc for opposition teams and he’s the winger we’re so desperately crying out for since the departure of Diaz

@KRSLFC20 What happens if one of Isak or Ekitike gets injured? There are many games to be played they can always rotate. Also, what happens when players lose form? What Gakpo is currently experiencing. If we want to compete on all front, we need at least 2 quality players in each position

@Izy_OA IF Isak starts I can’t see Ekitike being happy with a place on the bench which automatically gets him a spot left side imo and maybe have Gakpo as 2nd striker (top goal scorer euros for Holland etc)

@KRSLFC20 Rio has a lot of potential, no doubt. But he's currently too young to be the main choice for the LW. We need to manage him well and not put a lot of pressure on him. Although I'd prefer him to start ahead of Gapko now before we sign a top LW, hopefully in January

@Izy_OA Only one thing i disagree with and that’s Rio is too young… imo he’s raring to go and will eventually get snatched by a Barcelona if we’re not careful. Right attacking side is our main concern, Salah maybe needs a break and maybe pushed for his place.

🚨𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @JNorthcroft: "Edwards and Arne Slot spoke for 45 minutes last week. Patience is his guiding principle, Gordon’s too. The belief in Slot is logical, evidential. He is seen as exactly the same person who, only seven months ago, brought Liverpool their second league title in 35 years and the now-famous 60-page dossier Hughes compiled on Slot when appointing him as Klopp’s successor outlined three 'backbones' of his management."
