@MatrixMysteries They obviously checked your social media accounts and realized you didn't have the mental competence they required for cashiers.
English

@_adamdoug @CompletedStreet They probably quit selling it because noone use the gas station as a fruit stand. I also don't go to a fresh meat market and expect to be able to buy a quart of oil and a gallon of antifreeze.
English

@CompletedStreet correct - 15 years ago in England, local grocery stores partnered with gas stations to provide super fresh produce at the small stores. Here in 2026 in the USA, you get a crappy, soft tuna salad sandwich if you are lucky.
English

@CompletedStreet Such a lie. There's not a grocery store every mile in Mexico or Canada or anywhere else.
English

@the_transit_guy Are the two largest metro areas in Alberta connected by train? How about in Saskatchewan?
English

Only in the USA would you have the two biggest metros in a state, 80 minutes away from each other, with no train service.
Owen@Nebraskademsoc
I didn't realize how close Madison & Milwaukee actually are, like i know they are only two counties away but still! do people live in one and work in the other?
English

@NoNameGirl8686 @jrzygrl719 If you're Gen-X, I guarantee at no point in your life did you spend 1/4 of your food budget on food delivery. Maybe the occasional pizza, but not 2 or 3 nights per week.
English

@jrzygrl719 I’m Gen X. I have lived experience of what was and was not affordable when I was late teens and early 20s. Inflation, corporate greed, and inept government has priced them out of the things we easily had access to.
English

What else is there to do? They can’t afford concerts, movies, bowling, amusement parks, sports games, clubs, etc. Is the American dream now to sit in your house eating PB&J except for when you are at work?
Jeremiah Johnson 🌐@JeremiahDJohns
The biggest thing happening behind the scenes in the "expensive lunch" discourse is that Zoomers are eating out at ridiculously high rates. It's a silent assumption for a ton of young people that restaurants are a basic necessity, not an occasional treat.
English

@NoNameGirl8686 Gen Z spending 22% of their food budget on delivery means they don't mind eating at home, they're just too lazy (or too dumb) to cook.
English

@LorrieBoca @MatrixMysteries If its one thing we need in this country, its more homeless type-2 diabetics.
English

@MatrixMysteries They could donate them to a homeless shelter. This is pathetic.
English

The urban core generates almost all of a typical U.S. city's tax revenue but most of it goes to fund roads, sewer lines, power lines et al in suburbs.
If suburbs paid for themselves, rather than leaching off the city, I think a lot more people would be live and let live on this.

Richie Rich@Atomic_Ferret
@Euthenos_ Rural people and suburbanites do not care one bit abt how city people choose to live. You do you. Urban collectivists make it their life’s mission to ensure everyone lives exactly like they do.
English

@Gantzz32 @ClownWorld So what if the dog gets killed. Yard mutts are easily replaced out in the country. If one gets sick or injured, you shoot it in the head and find a neighbor with free puppies.
English

@ClownWorld Fuck those dogs and owners, they shouldn't own a dog. Why the fuck would anyone let their untrained dog roam oh i know why cause their entitled fuckin morons. That's how you get your dog killed
English

@Euthenos_ When you say "cultural desert", do you mean low crime area thanks to fewer residents of a certain racial demographic?
English

American suburbia would be acceptable if:
- Bike infrastructure connected it to local train stations
- It had frequent commercial areas
- It wasn’t a cultural desert
- It didn’t represent 80% of the urban footprint
Glimpses of Culture 🏛️@CharmOfCulture
Alright i’m going to say it… American Suburbia is one of the most over hated things on this app.
English

@WallStreetApes Americans need to consume less "soda". It will lead to us having to provide fewer people with insulin.
English

This is one of the reasons many Americans stopped buying sodas, the prices are outrageous
One 12 pack at this grocery store is $11.99
Sodas used to be 4 of these boxes for $12 bucks or buy 2 get 3 free
Name brand 12 packs of soda have seen a 90% increase in price since 2020 at some locations, soda as a whole has seen a 35% price increase according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
There’s actually a reason for this, it’s a new business model for soda. Companies shifted to “price over volume” strategies
Meaning instead of giving Americans a lot of for their money, instead they’ll jack up prices and just make more money on selling less
Remember when America wasn’t about seeing how much we can all be robbed for
English

@ClownWorld It's one reason. There are hundreds more reasons to not like them.
English

@rushicrypto Cut welfare spending, housing and food assistance that is currently going to able bodied individuals to zero and see how many of them suddenly decide they're ready to work.
English

@simongerman600 In 1950, did 50% of the population pay ZERO dollars in federal income tax?
English

If you have this weird gut feeling that the rich pay little tax in the US, your gut is spot on... Source: nytimes.com/interactive/20…

@NotBadgers @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt So what happens at the strike of midnight on a person's 18th birthday that they magically transform biologically, physically, mentally, and emotionally into a total different person. According to you, one day they're playing with toy trucks and dolls and the next they're adults.
English

@JackWalkerFarm @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt Your argument for child marriage is that there's child soldiers?
Christ, I hope you're a bot.
English

@DrinksInTheAm84 @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt "Pedos" are attracted to pre-pubescent children. This law is about the marriage of 16 and 17 year olds with their parent's consent. TEENS. Not children.
English

@JackWalkerFarm @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt Found the pedo in the comments section
English

@jjjddd5566 @NicholasOKane5 @vlxw8w1 @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt According you. Out of the 8 billion people on the planet, I'm betting less than 5% would say marriage between two 20 year olds should be banned.
English

@NicholasOKane5 @vlxw8w1 @JackWalkerFarm @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt 20 is too young to be getting married for almost anybody
English

@Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt 17 year olds aren't children. They can join the Marines.
English

@MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl Why does @GovStitt want child rape and marriage to be legal? Republicans are the party of sick and deranged pedophiles.
English

@allenanalysis So end all federal welfare programs and stop sending money to the red states. Red states will vote to do it with you. Then you can fund your liberal social experiments with state tax dollars.
English

I wish conservatives understood one thing:
If it weren’t for blue states, the U.S. would be a third world country with broadband holes, broke schools, and zero innovation.
Red states take the federal money. Blue states make it.
You don’t fund the country, you drain it.
Bad ideas. No revenue. And the loudest voices are always the ones who bring the least to the table.
English

@Bufo_Machina @SingleMalt1942 @norhloudspeaker @iluminatibot The college has already been paid. Its a loan to pay for college. You act like colleges have LayAWay plans.
English

@SingleMalt1942 @norhloudspeaker @iluminatibot I want an institution that gives out loans to be punished for not providing value. That’s achieved BY LETTING THE BORROWERS DEFAULT. Punish the colleges for giving out bad degrees that don’t result in jobs. Y’know. Free market capitalism.
