@MatrixMysteries They obviously checked your social media accounts and realized you didn't have the mental competence they required for cashiers.

“I got denied by Walmart to be a cashier — and I’ve got a MASTER’S degree.” “I applied to 300 jobs. ONLY eleven even responded.” A generation sold the college ticket. Now the ticket doesn’t even get you in the door.

@_adamdoug @CompletedStreet They probably quit selling it because noone use the gas station as a fruit stand. I also don't go to a fresh meat market and expect to be able to buy a quart of oil and a gallon of antifreeze.

@CompletedStreet correct - 15 years ago in England, local grocery stores partnered with gas stations to provide super fresh produce at the small stores. Here in 2026 in the USA, you get a crappy, soft tuna salad sandwich if you are lucky.

Other countries: Fresh, affordable food available within walking distance of every neighborhood. U.S.: 15 brands of genetically modified hyper-processed ice cream that requires a $35,000 vehicle to access.

@NoNameGirl8686 @jrzygrl719 If you're Gen-X, I guarantee at no point in your life did you spend 1/4 of your food budget on food delivery. Maybe the occasional pizza, but not 2 or 3 nights per week.

@jrzygrl719 I’m Gen X. I have lived experience of what was and was not affordable when I was late teens and early 20s. Inflation, corporate greed, and inept government has priced them out of the things we easily had access to.

What else is there to do? They can’t afford concerts, movies, bowling, amusement parks, sports games, clubs, etc. Is the American dream now to sit in your house eating PB&J except for when you are at work?

The biggest thing happening behind the scenes in the "expensive lunch" discourse is that Zoomers are eating out at ridiculously high rates. It's a silent assumption for a ton of young people that restaurants are a basic necessity, not an occasional treat.

@NoNameGirl8686 Gen Z spending 22% of their food budget on delivery means they don't mind eating at home, they're just too lazy (or too dumb) to cook.

An American filmed what his local Krispy Kreme does with unsold donuts. Straight into the trash. After private equity took over, the price of a dozen climbed to $22. And instead of selling them at a discount… They’d rather WASTE the food than lower the profit margin.

The urban core generates almost all of a typical U.S. city's tax revenue but most of it goes to fund roads, sewer lines, power lines et al in suburbs. If suburbs paid for themselves, rather than leaching off the city, I think a lot more people would be live and let live on this.

@Euthenos_ Rural people and suburbanites do not care one bit abt how city people choose to live. You do you. Urban collectivists make it their life’s mission to ensure everyone lives exactly like they do.

@Gantzz32 @ClownWorld So what if the dog gets killed. Yard mutts are easily replaced out in the country. If one gets sick or injured, you shoot it in the head and find a neighbor with free puppies.

@WallStreetApes Americans need to consume less "soda". It will lead to us having to provide fewer people with insulin.

This is one of the reasons many Americans stopped buying sodas, the prices are outrageous One 12 pack at this grocery store is $11.99 Sodas used to be 4 of these boxes for $12 bucks or buy 2 get 3 free Name brand 12 packs of soda have seen a 90% increase in price since 2020 at some locations, soda as a whole has seen a 35% price increase according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics There’s actually a reason for this, it’s a new business model for soda. Companies shifted to “price over volume” strategies Meaning instead of giving Americans a lot of for their money, instead they’ll jack up prices and just make more money on selling less Remember when America wasn’t about seeing how much we can all be robbed for

@NotBadgers @Linda__Stevens @MickeyDollens @BobInPascoFl @GovStitt So what happens at the strike of midnight on a person's 18th birthday that they magically transform biologically, physically, mentally, and emotionally into a total different person. According to you, one day they're playing with toy trucks and dolls and the next they're adults.

The bill to ban child marriage in Oklahoma has become law! Despite 36 Republicans voting against & Gov. Stitt declining to sign or veto, SB504 will go into effect without his signature. 18 to marry. No exceptions.

@allenanalysis So end all federal welfare programs and stop sending money to the red states. Red states will vote to do it with you. Then you can fund your liberal social experiments with state tax dollars.

I wish conservatives understood one thing: If it weren’t for blue states, the U.S. would be a third world country with broadband holes, broke schools, and zero innovation. Red states take the federal money. Blue states make it. You don’t fund the country, you drain it. Bad ideas. No revenue. And the loudest voices are always the ones who bring the least to the table.

@SingleMalt1942 @norhloudspeaker @iluminatibot I want an institution that gives out loans to be punished for not providing value. That’s achieved BY LETTING THE BORROWERS DEFAULT. Punish the colleges for giving out bad degrees that don’t result in jobs. Y’know. Free market capitalism.

American takes out a student loan for $8,645. After years of payments, he’s paid $7,450. His current balance? $8,750. He pays $7,450 — and somehow owes MORE than the original loan. This is usury, and it should be illegal
