With the exception of Guam, all of these countries were members of the Axis powers. Which goes to show you if your country has a lot of foreign military bases, it rarely ever happens voluntarily.

Stories like this are why Tough On Crime politics is so effective in America. We absolutely have an epidemic of criminals getting off scot free, but it’s not poor people committing violent crimes, it’s dangerous driving, tax dodging, littering, corruption, blue collar crime, etc.

I’ve seen the videos of kids throwing snowballs at NYPD officers in Washington Square Park. Officers, like all city workers, have been out in a historic blizzard, keeping New Yorkers safe and cars moving. Treat them with respect. If anyone’s catching a snowball, it’s me.
