From time to time I get a request from an adult who wants to pursue an ambitious chess goal like becoming a GM. I always try to point out all the challenges they might face. Are you sure? Yesterday I got an inquiry from a highly accomplished individual, and after a few email exchanges and watching my video where I explain the challenges of becoming a GM, it seems I changed his mind. Bad for my business, good for humanity! One less broken soul 😂

Candidates prep requires a team, massive resources and above all a lot of time. Winning the Candidates, it appears, requires more than that, I don't know. Beating the Candidates winner in blitz requires 10 mins of prep. 10 mins of prep is best spent with my ChessMonitor app.

Hans has beaten both Hikaru and Magnus consecutively in the same tournament. Hans checkmated Magnus at the world rapid and blitz, beat and knocked out Hikaru there as well.
