衝撃的だった。ヨーロッパの月間登録台数で日本車が初めて中国車に負けた。6％という僅差だったたため、年内は勝ったり負けたりかもしれないけれど、遠からず完全に抜かれてしまうだろう。中国勢の凄さは罰則的に高い輸入関税を課せられているにもかかわらず売れ行きを伸ばしていること。そして高い関税無しに入ってくるPHEVが急増していることにある。
加えて中国勢は欧州に電池工場や完成車の工場を建設中で、2～3年内に生産開始する。現地工場の中国車に関税は掛からない。さらに怖いのがPHEVだ。欧州勢のPHEVはCAFE（企業平均燃費）の数字を稼ぐため、EVモードだと二桁kmしか走れない「燃費逃れPHEV」だった。中国勢のPHEVは走行距離短いタイプ150km。長いタイプだと200kmを超える。通常の使用なら電気自動車だ。
しかも欧州の充電インフラは急速に進んでいる。慧眼の読者ならここまで読んで「日本が強みとしているハイブリッドを喰われますね」と思うだろう。その通りで、日常は電気自動車として使え、高速道路を使ったロングドライブならエンジン車と同じ使い勝手を持つPHEVって欧州の使い方にピッタリなのだった。中国からダイレクトに輸出出来るため、価格競争力だって高い。
折しも欧州は熱波に襲われている。この2週間くらいで気候変動防止に対する流れが一段と強くなった。欧州は中国製PHEVが急増すると思う。次に起きるのは人口密度低い地域のガソリンスタンドがバタバタと潰れること。我が国も燃費の良いJPNタクシーの増加でLPGスタンドの経営が厳しくなり減少傾向にある。欧州は高速道路や幹線道路沿いのガソリンスタンドしか残らないと思う。
翻って我が国を見ると茹でガエルばかり。電気自動車について書くとネガティブな意見。まぁどうでもいいです。勝手に電気自動車を否定していてください。そもそも電気自動車嫌い君達に買って欲しい＆認めて欲しいなんて1％も思っていない。ただ世界はハイブリッドを経由して電気自動車かと思っていたら、PHEVを経由して電気自動車が濃厚になってきたように思う。

This is brilliant and should be studied by central bankers everywhere! Peoples Bank of China was the first to deflate a massive, leveraged housing bubble without a single quarter of economic contraction or loss of growth momentum in the real economy.

A mi último iPhone se le rompió la pantalla, compré una y el dispositivo advierte sobre el gasto de batería y desactiva funciones, puedes tener los planos y fabricar lo que quieras, no servirá.

Global #4 DRAM maker China's CXMT is only raising $4B ish with an implied valuation of $42B USD. But the frenzy is indeed insane, and Jukan here is reporting that he's hearing the market may value it at $750B ish, which would imply a 18x increase
FYI we just wrote about CXMT at @techbuzzchina with @tphuang last week, as did SemiAnalysis! We could have probably written much longer on it, but we are experimenting with shorter formats.
TLDR though; just the memory supercycle near term (you don't even need to worry about HBM, which CXMT is decidedly behind in anyway) will make the revenues & profits go brrrrr

Potential attractive investment opportunities for 2H26 — I still think they are likely to be Chinese semiconductor localization names. A few days ago, I had meetings with Chinese sell-side analysts, and they said CXMT’s market cap immediately after IPO could be at least RMB 5 trillion. It seems that many Western investors are underestimating the investment frenzy around CXMT within China. I was also surprised when I first heard the RMB 5 trillion number, but I don’t think it is completely unreasonable. Most of the capital raised through CXMT’s IPO will likely flow into Chinese semiconductor localization stocks. Names like ACMR and NAURA look promising. I also think shorting the Apple supply chain could be an interesting idea… but there are not many Apple supply chain names with low AI exposure. Maybe CRUS is one of the few? But isn’t that itself a bearish point on Apple? If the Apple business were truly strong and attractive, why are so many Apple vendors trying to move away from Apple exposure and gain AI exposure instead?

I can't believe how many people believe Anthropic's propaganda about distillation attacks. You can read how GLM-5 was trained in the paper.
Maybe Claude was distilled from Chinese models? I haven't seen a paper from Anthropic, and accusations are often confessions.

These cars aren’t exported: they don’t exist in the US.

I’m in Shenzen.
It’s clear China has implemented a much more effective capitalist system than the US.
And Chinese consumers are the main beneficiaries. Far more choice of cheaper, quality products: electric cars, smartphones etc.
And these are not just copycat products.
Even industrial design here feels like an evolution of what I’ve seen in the US. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next iPhone looks similar to a current model of phone made by Honor or Huawei.
A more accurate description of the US economic system might be “capitalism with American characteristics”
