Throwback to my law school days when I did a judicial externship with the late Robert P. Patterson Jr. I was asked some deep questions during this externship that I still think about from time to time. During my interview, Judge Patterson asked me, "In 10 years' time, what would success look like to you?" I didn't know for sure, but I did know that it would include creating opportunities for other students in the future. One of the clerks asked me, "What does a non-rising escalator path for your career look like?" As an immigrant and the first person in my family to go to college, I did not know what the "rising escalator" is, let alone imagining things beyond that. Fast forward more than 10 years, both of those have materialized: - I co-founded the Fordham Law Blockchain Regulatory Symposium that offers law students at Fordham front-row access to the digital assets industry. - The non-rising escalator path so far includes working as a lawyer in crypto, creating generative art, learning to code, and even building an app (stay tuned). Stay open-minded, because you just never know what will happen in the future.
