BJP, as usual, will give their 2 standard arguments so let’s bust them in advance: 👉 No, farmers in Punjab did not stay up on Monday night just to burn stubble. Yesterday, the AQI was 200. There is no “conspiracy” by Punjab farmers to pollute Delhi on Diwali 👉 No. I’ve never seen an AQI of 1975 on Bakri Eid Spoke to Delhi Police personnel who said that ordinary crackers are being sold with a “green” label stamped on them after the SC allowed “green fireworks”. Over 90% of crackers you heard yesterday were NOT “green”. There’s NO TESTING MECHANISM to determine whether a firework is “green” or not. About 10 years ago, Delhi & Beijing used to be the top polluted cities in the world. Today, while Delhi reels under 1500+ AQI, Beijing is at 50. Yup. FIFTY. For all the taxes extracted over 10 years, it is not too much if people expect a breathable air quality. It’s literally as basic as it gets. BJP’s “triple engine govt” promised a pollution-free Delhi. As always, that was a LIE (like every word that comes out of Modi’s mouth).
