I'm running numbers on family trusts. If the trust owned by mum, dad, and 19-year-old daughter earns $180,000 a year and they distribute $60,000 to each the tax will be three times $9,000 = $27000. At 30% flat, it's $54,000. That's double - The only way out is to change distributions to wages, but they must be able to justify the wage. It's a shameful attack on business

@PeterSchiff @SenSanders That's a bullshit argument. Amazon is hyper-capitalism (late stage, not sustainable); no one can compete with its scale. If Amazon didn't employ them, there would be 1.5 million extra people running small businesses in the true capitalism sense.

@SenSanders Yes, but Bezos employs over 1.5 million people at Amazon. That’s a lot of jobs he created, even after some layoffs. How many jobs have you created? For all the value Bezos has provided his customers and employees, he deserves a yacht. What value have you provided to anyone?

The reality of American life today: Jeff Bezos, worth $290 billion, spent: $10 million on the Met Gala $120 million on a penthouse $500 million on a yacht Meanwhile, he‘s planning to throw 600,000 Amazon workers out on the streets and replace them with robots. Unacceptable.

@rationalaussie @TATDYLF_R2D2 We are on the cusp of the biggest wealth transfer in history (from the boomers). There will be plenty of money around (for some) to buy property.

@TATDYLF_R2D2 No because we are at the stage in the big debt cycle where capital controls and taxes are implemented, so even massive nominal increases in house prices driven by inflation can't be arb'd through leverage

Honestly, I think this is the beginning of the end for the Australian Property Ponzi Scheme. This energy supply shock is unprecedented and will cause massive inflation, at the same time job losses triggered by AI are just beginning. Who wants to square that circle? Are they going to raise rates and bankrupt home owners, or print money and subsidise the Ponzi scheme? How much money will they have to print to plug that hole? The RBA will probably play with the one tool in their toolbox and increases rates, but eventually the government will see the crisis unfolding and end up subsidising home owners and renters with fake printed currency. Nominally house prices might even go up, but in real terms they'll go backwards. It's over. There's no coming back from the series of events that now seem to be in motion. Who the FK is retarded enough to spend a million bucks on a dogbox in this environment? We are an economy built on quick sand. Massive change is on the horizon.

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary was asked if he’d add Starlink to the airline’s 650-plane fleet. He called Musk an idiot, saying the antennas would raise fuel burn by 2%, costing $250M a year, and called X a cesspit. Musk now wants to buy Ryanair for $35B. politico.eu/article/elon-m…

Australians, on the whole, are a very naive people. It never seems to occur to them that the government almost certainly knew what was being planned and either allowed for it to happen or possibly even facilitated it. Why would they do that? Because like all western governments, they intentionally create problems that have the populace begging for a solution that almost invariably strips citizens of their rights and strengthens the surveillance state. This is also why machete-wielding Sudanese are allowed to run free terrorising people, even though there’s an easy and obvious solution. The goal is to make everyone so scared that they’ll accept just about any infringement on their autonomy in order to make the problem go away. (The Australian response to Covid tells you everything you need to know.) Of course, the problem won’t go away and any new anti-terrorism measures will be directed at dissidents, not actual terrorists. It will instead be used to round up Australians who criticise their occupied, traitorous government, while the floodgates to the third world are left open and public spaces remain unsafe.

Hi @AlboMP This is not Port Arthur. It's not about gun control. It's about anti-Semitism. It's about terrorism It's about the way you let this cancer spread over the past two years. It's about how you and all agencies of government were warned. But you did nothing. You stand condemned for your total lack of leadership.

@RiseAscendant @libsoftiktok Stop picking sides, treat these people as deranged individuals rather than a "side". You are the problem, making this a division. This is a really terrible time for Australia, and you are making it worse. Think about it.
