TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard aren't getting paid because Republicans have refused to fund them. Full stop. Democrats have made MULTIPLE attempts to approve funding, and Republicans have rejected them. Every. Single. Time.

We can fund the TSA. We can fund FEMA. We can fund CISA. We can fund the Coast Guard. Then we can talk through our differences on reining in the tactics of ICE and CBP to better protect Americans. I hope my colleagues support this approach the next time it comes up for a vote.

@JessicaManfre @brianschatz ICE and CBP are funded by the Big Beautiful Bill. They are still funded and getting paid.

We are enthusiastically willing to pay TSA workers today, and we will keep trying, but the sticking point is that Republicans want to attach ICE funding to it. We are not in agreement about ICE, but I don’t think workers and travelers should have to wait for an ICE deal.
