I have completely installed a @PixelFXco Retro GEM in a PSX DVR (DESR-7700) i.e. an all-in-one PS2 and DVR. Also created 3D files along the journey, yet still need to work on an install guide. Be sure to follow me if you want to be informed when the files are on MakerWorld.

Coming soon! Last week, I discovered alternative solder points on the PSX DVR mainboard for Power and Quit Game. With @chriz2600's help, both points are now controllable from the @PixelFXco Retro GEM. Here's the Quit Game feature sending me to 1) XMB and 2) PSXBBL via MCP2.

@Telespieleabend @PixelFXco PS3, just like PSVita TV, has HDCP built-in. It requires an HDMI splitter or audio extractor to bypass HDCP before going into Morph 4K's HDMI input. Alternatively, you use a PS3 component cable thru Morph 4K's analog input via analog bridge + connector card.

@PixelFXco I noticed that on the morph 4k page the PS3 is mentioned to be supported. Does the morph accept the signal directly without further hardware? I ask because the Retrotink 4k doesn't accept the videosignal of the PS3 because of the copy protection flag in the HDMI signal.

That I was able to harvest the CLIO chip from, where the Gem pulls its signals directly from, indicating something wrong with that main chip. Fortunately the donor chip solved the issue! This was an NOS console so even sitting unused, the CLIO chip seemingly degraded. (2/2)

In case anyone encounters this: have a 3DO that was exhibiting incorrect colors and came in for Retro Gem install, recapping did not solve the issue. Went ahead with the Gem install and still had the same problem. Fortunately I had a dead FZ-10… (1/2)

Dear Lord!! Sticker on this “junk” Genesis Model 2 said “bad connection on power port”. Shell was held together with 3 mismatched screws and nothing holding the PCB down.. but the real surprise was when I flipped the board over! 😮

@Gusse__ I see you using DS3 and DS4 together. So will this mean a unified methylene firmware again? I’d rather have the option for both controllers, but on last firmware update, I could only get DS3 working with the methylene_ps3 and changing to fixed MAC when it worked fine before.
