I guess nothing brings the Destiny community together quite like the end of development. All of a sudden, everyone’s out here organizing synchronized login days and signing petitions to show support. Where was all of this when the game actually needed it?

I’m confused why everyone is shocked that Sony decided to ice Destiny? there was zero indication they ever wanted Destiny 3. we know D2 is crazy expensive to operate, and had lost most of its players by 2020.
it sucks that layoffs are coming, hopefully some can transfer to other parts of Sony. but Bungie isn’t dying. they will get lean and focus on Marathon for 2026 and 2027.
I keep saying this, but PS6 is around the corner, and will be a great chance for Bungie to evolve again.

Marathon isn't to blame for Destiny 2 dying. Bungie had been planning to make a new Marathon game as far back as the OG Activision contract in 2010. It just took time to make something they were happy with

This is a sole failing of upper management. Stop coping and get angry at the right thing. Cause marathon isn’t the right thing to be angry at.

@NeoAmron @MrbaconSL As much as this may be true, Bungie still took resources away from Destiny 2 in a time when it was needed. Bugs left un-squashed, feedback ignored, a period of underdelivery.
Marathon is not the reason but it was one of the many knifes.
