Wait…? The past year I’ve heard how Hagen was the WR of the future and he was going to fill the shoes for Kingston and Roberts and his tornado reverse was the greatest thing ever? Now it’s “ehh he wasn’t that good”? I’m confused?

When I was 21 my net worth was under $100,000 & I once bet $6,000 on red in roulette. At 42 my net worth is around 2.5 mil yet I agonize every time at chipotle if I’ll spend the $2.00 on the extra guac. I feel you Zach Greinke. I just don't want to feel like I lost or am a sucker for paying too much.

Cauliflower crust pizza from Costco + turkey pepperoni. ~1300 cals. 74g protein. One of the most satisfying dinners of my life. Not just because it tasted great. But because I was able to enjoy it with zero shame, guilt, or fear about how it would impact my body. I track my calories. I track my protein. I lift weights consistently. 98% of what I eat has way more protein per calorie in the meal. But on days where the calorie goals allow for it, you can eat things like this, knowing it literally helps you stay shredded. Not because it’s the “healthiest” meal. Although I challenge you to point out literally one ingredient in this pizza that’s unhealthy… Cauliflower? No. Cheese? No. Turkey? No. Vegetables? No. Tomato sauce? No. Pizza is not “unhealthy”. Eating too many calories is unhealthy… Even if this weren’t cauliflower crust. Or if it were normal pork pepperoni. None of those are “unhealthy”. They’re just more calories, so I opted for the (extremely tasty) alternatives. But yes, this meal literally helps me stay shredded because it makes the process of maintaining leanness extremely enjoyable. It makes me look forward to my meals. It makes it easier to stay disciplined. It makes it easier to stay consistent. I fully believe the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:31 when it says “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God". Context: This means with everything you do, do it to the glory of God. The example of eating is used because it’s something we do multiple times a day, every single day, for the rest of our lives, demonstrating how all of our daily habits should be done to the glory of God. And I believe being disciplined and eating, my lower calorie higher, protein meals can be done to the glory of God. I’m stewarding my body well. I’m demonstrating discipline for my family. But also, enjoy enjoying amazing food can be done to the glory of God. Jesus feasted. He wasn’t gluttonous. He didn’t eat in a way that harmed his body. But he also enjoyed great food to the glory of God. God designed our bodies perfectly, and he gave us taste buds for a reason. One of those reasons was to enjoy their gift of amazing food (while stewarding our bodies responsibly). Managing your calories isn’t restriction. It’s stewardship. It allows you to responsibly enjoy great food to the glory of God. Don’t believe the diet zealots. It doesn’t have to suck. When you manage your calories responsibly, you can enjoy great food to the glory of God.

Big news.

The NAACP is taking a stand. Today, we launch the #OutofBounds campaign, a national call to action for Black athletes, families, fans, and allies. In response to states erasing Black voting representation after the Supreme Court’s Louisiana v. Callais decision, we are demanding accountability. "Out of Bounds is our answer: we are naming the contradiction, and we are calling on Black athletes, families, fans, and consumers to act on it. The same power that built these programs can be redirected." —NAACP President and CEO @DerrickNAACP This is about more than sports. It’s about justice. Today, the Islamic Center of San Diego was the target of a mass shooting, reportedly killing 3 innocent people. This horrific tragedy is a reflection of the rampant Islamophobia that has run unchecked in this country for so long. The persistent normalization of dangerous rhetoric puts real lives at risk.
