Congratulations to @MikeClancyVA on becoming the next Chairman of the 10th District Republican Committee! Scott Pio has withdrawn from the chairman’s race, and we thank him for his service to the Party and his commitment to the 10th District. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We are excited for Mike to step into this role in the coming weeks and know he will hit the ground running.
I’m going to say this despite what it will do to me politically - I think the Virginia redistricting is extremely anti-democratic and that it is a reactionary policy to Donald Trump that was created by DC consultants… In 2020, 66% of Virginians voted for bipartisan maps…the new maps slice up Arlington and take away the voice of everyone outside of northern Virginia… In every local democratic committee I’ve been in, when this issue comes up, nobody can defend it, it’s just “well this is what the party says is best.” NO. The Democratic Party loses because of reactionary maneuvers and because it doesn’t have a big bold vision for the future. They say it’s “temporary” but FOUR years of gerrymandering isn’t “temporary” and because I value our constitutional republic over all else… I’ll be voting NO and I encourage everyone else to, but I can’t hold my tongue any longer despite what this will do to me with the Dems in Virginia
Chesterfield's now counted their mail so far. And it's not a good sign for DEMs. Lot of heavy R localities are over 100% of their same-day-equivalent mail count. Unlike 2025, Loudoun early vote looks good for DEMs though.
As Co-Chair of @VA_forFairMaps, I am all-in to stop this unfair and undemocratic attempt to redraw our Congressional maps and silence millions of people. In 2020, Virginians made it clear they didn’t want career politicians drawing districts for their friends and allies. We must vote NO to stop this partisan power grab. I will be holding 8 grassroots events on Monday and Tuesday to rally Virginians to VOTE NO on April 21st and to oppose this amendment. I hope you will join me in this fight.

Heartbroken to hear of Delegate Barry Knight’s passing. Praying for Paula and the Knight family. He played a pivotal role in my path to the House and it was an honor to serve beside him. From hog farmer to Hampton Roads heavyweight, Virginia lost a great leader. Rest easy, Barry.
@EricLDaugh I usually appreciate your posts, but this one leaves out a key point. Today was Youngkin’s last day as Virginia’s governor, and neither he nor Miyares made a serious effort to address election integrity in the state. In fact, Miyares fired a new hire after it came out — via a Washington Post story — that she had posted on her private Facebook page, before being hired, that the 2020 election was fraudulent. That decision sent a clear message about where the administration stood. From my perspective, the only real impact Youngkin had on Virginia elections was in 2023 and 2025 when he sabotaged them — and not in a positive way. I’m glad Harmeet is taking legal action, but both Youngkin and Miyares failed big time when it came to defending election integrity in Virginia as well as education. Now we’ve got the Virginia Republican Party chair election set for January 31, 2026, and the name being floated as “the man to beat” is Nick Proffitt. Proffitt comes straight out of the Miyares operation — he was a close campaign aide and part of that inner circle. And once again, Youngkin appears to be stepping in behind the scenes, playing God again, and working to line up support and steer the outcome. It’s the same insider choreography Virginia Republicans have watched for years. Proffitt is young and most of his experience comes from navigating the establishment machine, not challenging it. That’s exactly the problem. The RPV doesn’t need another operator trained in how the system protects itself — it needs leadership willing to break from the playbook that’s delivered failure after failure over the last four to six years. If this race turns into another insider handoff, don’t call it reform. Call it more of the same.
