I’ve just noticed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is on the TV in ten minutes. I’ve fronted up to armed blaggers, arrested murderers and run into violent pub fights. But, I genuinely still get scared watching this film.

Wow care & compassion in the NHS! So I’m en route to hospital for my operation, travelling 2 hrs on a bus as can’t drive. Husband is at work and manages a farm, so can’t just take time out, but did start early so he can collect me later. Hospital just calls, says ‘We have had a cancellation so your operation will be done earlier, so we need you collecting at 4:30pm. I said I’m sorry but my husband doesn’t leave work until then and it’s an hours drive, and the receptionist was clearly irritated! ‘Can’t he leave early?’ Sorry no, he can’t, it’s 11:20am on the day of my operation and he’s already made arrangements at work. She sniffed ‘haven’t you got any friends or family that can collect you’. I explained we only recently moved and don’t know anyone in the area, so she then sighs loudly and says ‘Well I guess you’ll be stuck waiting then’. Bloody hell love, I’m nervous as it is coming for my operation and she’s being moody at me because they had a cancellation like it’s my fault! 🤦‍♀️ I hope she’s not part of my aftercare team 😬

Hubby is going to run home on his lunch break to help me. 😅 Many of you know that I laugh at myself a lot, so I thought y'all can laugh with me! I had an incontinent episode trying to stand up to get to bathroom, which is a side effect of the Cauda Equina crushed nerves-MD said it will take a few months to recover. How humiliating. Dropped my phone, my back brace fell down behind my couch, and I dropped my grabber, too.🤣🤣 It's taken me almost an hour and a half to put on a brief, get the grabber picked up, get the back brace out from behind the couch, and get my phone picked up. Then I tried to put on my special back brace but my breasts are too large, so they keep falling down, impeding me from being able to cinch it tight while holding onto my walker to keep from falling. 🤣🤣🤣 At least I can laugh despite the pain, thinking of what a third party observing from a distance would think, if they could see me LOL!

Sometimes the body goes wrong. I have proximal focal femoral deficiency which means my left femur and the bones adjacent did not develop in the womb and my leg had to be amputated so I could wear an artificial leg with a knee joint. The usual number of legs for a human remains two. My one leg is not proof that another kind of human exists - I am a human with a genetic disorder. Exactly the same with DSDs. The body’s failure to fully develop along either male or female lines is not proof of a third or fourth or fifth sex or proof that sex doesn’t exist. They are rare examples of genetic disorders.
