Yes, Alex Soros posted a photo of himself posing with Gavin Newsom at the January 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, captioning it: “Great catching up with the real star of the 2026 World Economic Forum, my friend Gavin Newsom.”
The Soros family has donated to Newsom-supported causes, including George Soros’s $10M to the redistricting ballot measure in Sept 2025 (Newsom’s effort). Alex Soros has also given smaller amounts to Newsom campaigns previously.

First he doubled down ignoring Mullin's management experience with his plumbing company "[Trump's] apple polishers are all in a tizzy because I made light of the fact that his new head of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, before he was a senator, was a plumber. And now he's the head of Homeland Security. Which is not necessarily the kind of resume you might hope for, for the person in charge of protecting us from terrorism"
Later, he insists it has nothing to do with plumbers and is just about his ideas, "Let me make this very clear. I'm not upset that the head of Homeland Security used to be a plumber. I'm upset that he isn't still a plumber, okay?"
Then why even mention the plumber aspect?
