Giants had Lawrence at $42m for for the next two years and he only gets a $5m raise per @ProFootballTalk report. Seems clear giants were not interested in doing much. Good extension for cincy only having to tack on 1 year. No real reason for lawrences side to have done that. Just get the raise and keep free agency

Source on how Bengals sealed the Dexter Lawrence trade: 'Nobody was going to beat the 10th pick.' Made the call clear for the Giants.

The last time a veteran non-quarterback was traded for a Top 10 pick was 21 years ago—when the @Vikings traded Hall of Fame WR Randy Moss to the @Raiders for the seventh overall pick and a seventh rounder. Safe to say the @Giants did well with the return for Dexter Lawrence.

I was on the phone with a GM less than an hour ago running through top 10 scenarios. The way we had it going, we both said, “the bengals are screwed.” Well, not anymore. This trade makes a ton of sense for them.

There has literally never been anybody in pro football history with Lawrence's size and deployment (so much 0-tech and 1-shade) with his disruptive abilities. Most guys his size (Vita Vea, for example) get more of their disruptions further away from the center.
Doug Farrar ✍@NFL_DougFarrar

If you look at the last two Super Bowl winners -- the Eagles destroying Mahomes without blitzing and the Seahawks demolishing the Patriots and playing more than 50% dime -- the common thread is the increasing importance of interior defensive linemen. Dexter Lawrence is one of one.

The steep prices paid by the Bengals for Dexter Lawrence underscores two important points about this draft class: This is not a strong draft at the top. The lack of blue chippers is well-established. This draft is extremely thin at defensive tackle.

some thoughts on Lawrence to Cincy... Dexter Lawrence is a 28-year old stud he spent most of his career playing vs elite interior OLs of the Eagles & Cowboys he's been double-teamed at the highest rate in the NFL he's now playing in the AFC North Ravens lost their C Steelers might start a 42-yr old QB Browns have Deshaun or Shedeur Lawrence should FEAST the Giants were TERRIBLE when he wasn't on the field last year, even in a "down" year for Lawrence: Giants defense with... Dexter Lawrence OFF the field: #32 YPA (8.4) #31 sack rate (4.1%) #27 EPA/pass (+0.13) #26 pass success (47%) #23 pressure rate (32%) Dexter Lawrence ON the field: #7 pass success (40%) #8 YPA (6.6) #9 sack rate (7.7%) #10 EPA/pass (+0.09) #22 pressure rate (33%) that was a "down" year for Dexter the team was top-10 vs the pass when he was out there bottom-10 when he wasn't want a larger sample? last 3 years: Dexter Lawrence OFF the field: #32 YPA (7.7) #31 pressure rate (29%) #31 pass success (48%) #30 EPA/pass (+0.14) #30 sack rate (5.5%) Dexter Lawrence ON the field: #8 pass success (42%) #8 sack rate (7.4%) #10 EPA/pass (+0.02) #13 YPA (7.0) #15 pressure rate (36%) and again, the context is VITAL: he was obviously the #1 best player on the Giants defense every team knew it they double teamed him at the #1 highest rate and he STILL made this big of a difference and that was despite playing some of the NFL's top offensive lines in the NFC East as it relates tot he Eagles and Cowboys for YEARS oh, and then there's this pretty ridiculous nugget:

The Giants and Bengals have been discussing a deal for DT Dexter Lawrence for two weeks now, with things heating up over the last day—with the 10th overall pick as its focal point. Cincinnati was focused on getting a big-time defender with that pick. They got one.

#Giants star Dexter Lawrence is being traded to the #Bengals in a pre-Draft blockbuster that includes the No. 10 pick heading to the Giants, per me and @MikeGarafolo. NYG gets premium draft compensation, Cincy gets a lynchpin, while Sexy Dexy gets a new, big-money extension.

@reaganreese_ @JeffClarkUS @DailyCaller Mass mail-in voting happened because of Covid. The laws weren’t followed in 2020. Federal Elections have specific laws & restrictions. States ignored requirements for safe & secure elections. In person voting with secure system no one can cheat on.

SCOOP: Trump will sign an executive order at 5pm, cracking down on mail-in voting across the country, @DailyCaller has learned. The executive order will require the admin to create a list of confirmed U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote in each state. It will also mandate that absentee ballots only be sent to those on each state's approved mail-in ballot list. Ballots will now have specific secure envelopes, with unique barcodes for tracking. States who disobey the order may lose federal funds under the presidential action.
